Find your way to the Schnapsmuseum, located in a stately mansion at Wilhelmstrasse 19, in Vienna's 12th district, close to the train station Meidling. German tours depart at 2pm, English tours at 2:30pm.
You'll be met by a member of the museum, and the private tour will start in the mansion's former office, known as the 'comptoir', and filled with original early 20th-century furnishings. Next is the 'composition room', which resembles an apothecary shop and is dedicated to teaching visitors the basics of schnapps and liqueurs.
On to the 'Distillery Room', which housed one of the very first steam distillation vessels. Here, can taste an array schnapps and liqueurs; raspberry juice is also available.
