This is a great tour but be prepared for a lot of bus time. Four hours to get there, four hours in Salzburg and four hours to return. We thought it was worth it as we saw everything we wanted to see and had a great meal at one of the many restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip from Vienna to Salzburg. The bus was very comfortable and the stops chosen, particularly the first one, were very nice. The tour was a perfect combination of guided tours and free time. Much information was shared on the bus, and the music played on our trip back was a lovely way to end the day. Our guide was knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Highly recommended! The lake stop was very beautiful! The guide was also very informational and enthusiastic. It was a pleasant trip that is worth every cent!
Loved it! The guide was great, the countryside magnificent and the castle was fantastic. It was nice that it was not really crowded there. It is definitely a LONG ride though so be sure you are up to it!
This was an amazing trip from top to botton the views the countryside the lakes in the mountains the city of Salzburg itself us beautiful too. If you go to Vienna don't waste your money going to cheap tours that are worth nothing Ho ahead and book this tour I thought it was wonderful
Interesting tour but it would have been nicer if the weather permitted. Was raining all day when we arrived but still managed to enjoy as much as we could.
Suggested visits: , after the group tour head up to the fortress Festung Hohensalzburg funicular takes minutes and there is usually no rush . Skip the innards and take in sights from the outer courtyard.
After this take taxi for Augustinerbräu - Kloster Mülln . superb beer is drawn from wooden barrels and served in stone jugs, or steins. Regional and traditional dishes can be bought directly from various food stands.
watch for the timing Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and Holidays from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
A very enjoyable trip to Salzburg specially with our tour guide, Thomas. He was very detailed with all the history and background of the major areas on our way to Salzburg. Local guide though was a bit slow with the delivery.
The ride in the bus from Vienna to Salzburg, is a must for travelers looking to explore the serenity of Austria's inner land.
The 3 to 4 hours journey, on each way, will pass in a glimpse, because the vehicle is comfortable and the rest stops, are well planned.
The Guide within Salzburg, was much informative and fun, and i advise to do the castle climb on your own, in the allocated free time.
Salzburg was wonderful.
It was worth it but as many said it was a very long day.
Both our guides were very good and did well despite the absolutely boiling hot day.
Unfortunately the sound system on the bus was not working very well and so we missed out on enjoying all the great entertainment prepared by the guide.
Despite long distances, stops were well organized.
Thanks a lot.
The trip to Salzburg is amazing with breathtaking views all the way, the tour was really good and informative!
The tour guide on the bus was just excellent - perfect English and Spanish, great knowledge of history and love to the tourists - he loved sharing his knowledge with us! We recommend this trip, it was very scenic and amazing!
Wonderful trip. Can't wait to get back there for another fantastic stay!!
Wonderful trip. Can't wait to go back there and experience another fantastic stay!!
We saw some incredible scenery going and coming back from Salzburg. The walking tour in salzburg was very interesting, and had enough free time to wander around on our own a bit. The rest stops going and coming back helped make the trip not quite so long.
The day is short when assuming the 4 hrs going and 4 hrs coming to Vienna. However the tour guide surely made up for this and he packed a visit where we got to see all the highlights. Moreover got a good taste of Salzburg and due to this we shall probably go and spend a few days there.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We made a stop at an amazing place for coffee, snacks, and desserts half way to Salzburg. Our group was large, so there were two other guides waiting for us in Salzburg. That made it much easier to visit the sights and listen to our guide. We were also told of a meeting place and were given enough time to explore Salzburg on our own. What a fantastic place! We plan on going back to Salzburg one day!
