Taste small food samples

Make your way to the centrally located Stephansplatz 3 in Vienna prior to a 9:30 a.m. departure. Meet your guide and a small group of 12 people or fewer and head down the famous Graben boulevard en route to a coffee shop that has been serving fine Viennese brews since 1685.

Once properly caffeinated, satisfy your sweet tooth at a famous pastry shop and chocolatier, and then head to the hotel that claims fame for inventing the Viennese dessert Sachertorte, a chocolate cake with a layer of apricot jam and chocolate icing: learn how the kitchen churns out 500 a day.

Continue to the two open-air markets of Naschmarkt and Brunnenmarkt, getting recommendations for the hottest local eateries along the way, and spend time browsing stalls of colorful produce, sweet treats, and homewares. Plus, visit a tiny restaurant near the market to try fresh produce, fish, spices, and cheese.

Finish your tour with a private coffee tasting in a popular coffeehouse in trendy Neubau, Vienna's seventh district, where you will bid farewell to your guide.

We were fortunate to have Wolfy as our guide - he is an excellent guide, and is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about all aspects of his city, and gave us excellent tips and recommendations for the remainder of our stay as well.

The food on the tour was amazing and we managed to see a lot of the city sights, including visits to places where ordinary tourists probably wouldn't be aware of. The schedule was flexible enough to accommodate our requests, which we really appreciated. We would definitely recommend this tour!

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Patrick. He took us to all the described locations and led us in to a native Viennese perspective on the best coffee, pastry, food and the likes. It was exactly the type of off the radar tour we were seeking. I would highly recommend this tour.

This was a relaxed and relaxing tour. Wolfie allowed us time to browse, converse and enjoy our wonderful tastes of Vienna. This was our first tour of 4 and the best! He took us on subway, tram and bus and arranged several tastings in restaurant, open air markets and cafe. So we learned not only what we liked but how to get back for more! There were no add on expenses beyond the original payment. He went above and beyond what was advertised he provided an expceptional first exposure to Vienna history, culture and life.

Don't miss this. Our guide Wolfy took us on a walk through parts of Vienna that you might not otherwise see. The stops included iconic coffee shops, two outdoor markets and lots of food tasting along the way. We had a congenial group of 7, all of whom were more than willing to sample the local and in some cases like at the Russian perogie stand not so local cuisine. Along the route, Wolfy added his local knowledge to the areas we were visiting. The walk, albeit with quite a few stops and a few subway rides along the way, took about 5 hours, all of which were well spent. The weather was perfect, and this might not have been as much fun had we been dealing with rain or cold.

Wolfie is a great guide. He knows and truly loves his city and really connected with us. We saw some major attractions as well as some others we would not have heard of otherwise.

Cheers to Wolfgang for making that morning memorable and quite full from all the sampling come with an empty stomach!!. I was the only one on that day, which felt like a personal tour in a way. Went behind the counter of a cheese stand in a busy market stall, sampling soooo much, I loved it! He certainly knows the best places to eat and have a good coffee. Highly recommend!!

We generally take a food and market tour wherever we go as it is the best way to learn about the culture and the great out of the way, places to eat. Wolfgang and his partner were fun to be with, passionate about their location, and knowledgeable about the area and the vendors we visited. The open air market was the highlight of the tour for me as it was filled with the culture and character of the area, Highly recommend the tour as well as the tour guides.
