We were fortunate to have Wolfy as our guide - he is an excellent guide, and is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about all aspects of his city, and gave us excellent tips and recommendations for the remainder of our stay as well.
The food on the tour was amazing and we managed to see a lot of the city sights, including visits to places where ordinary tourists probably wouldn't be aware of. The schedule was flexible enough to accommodate our requests, which we really appreciated. We would definitely recommend this tour!
This was a great tour and would do it again. Wolfie was wonderful and took us places that most tourist do not go. At the end of the tour we the four of us were stuffed.
Probably should be 6 stars. Our guide Wolfie really made the tour. He was very familiar with the different neighborhoods and also made everyone comfortable. A MUST SEE and DO tour for Vienna.
We had a wonderful experience with our guide Patrick. He took us to all the described locations and led us in to a native Viennese perspective on the best coffee, pastry, food and the likes. It was exactly the type of off the radar tour we were seeking. I would highly recommend this tour.
This was a relaxed and relaxing tour. Wolfie allowed us time to browse, converse and enjoy our wonderful tastes of Vienna. This was our first tour of 4 and the best! He took us on subway, tram and bus and arranged several tastings in restaurant, open air markets and cafe. So we learned not only what we liked but how to get back for more! There were no add on expenses beyond the original payment. He went above and beyond what was advertised he provided an expceptional first exposure to Vienna history, culture and life.
Don't miss this. Our guide Wolfy took us on a walk through parts of Vienna that you might not otherwise see. The stops included iconic coffee shops, two outdoor markets and lots of food tasting along the way. We had a congenial group of 7, all of whom were more than willing to sample the local and in some cases like at the Russian perogie stand not so local cuisine. Along the route, Wolfy added his local knowledge to the areas we were visiting. The walk, albeit with quite a few stops and a few subway rides along the way, took about 5 hours, all of which were well spent. The weather was perfect, and this might not have been as much fun had we been dealing with rain or cold.
Wolfie is a great guide. He knows and truly loves his city and really connected with us. We saw some major attractions as well as some others we would not have heard of otherwise.
Cheers to Wolfgang for making that morning memorable and quite full from all the sampling come with an empty stomach!!. I was the only one on that day, which felt like a personal tour in a way. Went behind the counter of a cheese stand in a busy market stall, sampling soooo much, I loved it! He certainly knows the best places to eat and have a good coffee. Highly recommend!!
We generally take a food and market tour wherever we go as it is the best way to learn about the culture and the great out of the way, places to eat. Wolfgang and his partner were fun to be with, passionate about their location, and knowledgeable about the area and the vendors we visited. The open air market was the highlight of the tour for me as it was filled with the culture and character of the area, Highly recommend the tour as well as the tour guides.
Essentially we had a private tour as we were the only two people booked. Wolfy was personable, energetic, and dispensed a great amount of information about food and Vienna. First stop was Demel's -- how can you go wrong there? Take this tour early in your visit as he gives ideas of places to eat!
The tour was absolutely amazing. Wolfie the guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions. It was really neat that we took all means of transportation bus, subway, and tram to get around. We were able to go into different districts and see the diversity of Vienna. With each subway stop, we were able to see a different aspect of Vienna. Seeing the most beautiful coffee shops in the world and tastes of wonderful bakery items was great. He was even able to accommodate my gluten allergy. If youre in Vienna for one day or 10, its definitely a must do! I couldnt have had a better time with Wolfie, it was like I met a new friend.
We had a great time with Wolfy and left the tour absolutely stuffed.
Others have mentioned taking Wolfie's Urban Adventures food tour on your first day in Vienna. I agree...even when the temperature is 100...the upside was being the only intrepid customer that day. Wolfie offers an extensive introduction to Viennese foods and his tour will have you feeling like a native using public transportation and strolling around old Vienna for the rest of your stay. Despite the temps, Wolfie's energy and enthusiasm never flagged and he was more than generous with his time. Pictures being worth more than words, these are a simple sample of the tour highlights for me.
A genuine small group tour, including some well known and not so well known food related sites in Vienna. Very well executed, we enjoyed it very much.
Our Urban Adventures tour with Wolfy was one of the highlights of our vacation. Wolfy is personable, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable about Vienna. It felt like we were exploring the city with an old friend. All of the cafes and markets we visited were excellent and provided a delicious glimpse at the culture, history, and personality of Vienna. I highly recommend that all visitors to Vienna take this tour.
Fantastic tour, our guide Wolfy was really friendly and knowledgeable. We were shown round many different places and got to sample lots of different food and drinks. Wolfy went out of his way to make sure we had a great time, would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vienna!
This was awesome! Wolfy is absolutely the best host you could ask for in introduction to Vienna and the fun places to go and see. One word of warning - don't eat much breakfast before you go - ha! You will be treated to wonderful treats along the way that you won't want to miss - so do this tour one of the first days you arrive in Vienna - you will be glad you did!
Wolfy's walking tour was the highlight of our stay in Vienna - he was thoughtful, knowledgable and engaging which made for an extremely pleasant and relaxing experience. We would consider it a must do when in Vienna!
Wolfgang was terrific and he took us to some really top notch places including Demel which is a must visit. We got a really good sense of how Viennese enjoy themselves and the qualify of their goods at the markets. We highly recommend this great experience.
Fantastic tour! A wonderful way to see the city and enjoy some delicious food and coffee along the way. Wolfie was a very knowledgable and easy going guide. It felt more like hanging out with friends than an organised tour. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Vienna. Do it on your first day and you'll know your way around the city like a local for the rest of your trip!
It was a really good afternoon. we have explored food and drinks of Vienna. Not only traditional Viennese cuisine, but the food in all its varieties - traditional Sacher Torte and apple strudel, Middle Eastern Foods, cheeses, chocolates. It was quite informative too.Wolfgang took us to the places where the locals go. Gives certain insider knowledge and the feel of the place.
