Admire the countryside of the Wachau Valley on a full-day bike tour!

Meet up with your guide in a central location and climb aboard the train to Krems and arrive in the Wachau Valley, famous for its striking landscape, top wines and agriculture.

Strap on your helmet and hop on your bike for a relaxing 14-mile (23-km) ride. Take in the fresh air and learn about the region’s history from your guide as you pedal through a gorgeous pastoral backdrop.

Pull over at two or three wineries along your route to kick back with a local wine tasting. You’ll also have the chance to try the Wachau Valley’s celebrated liqueur.

Continue to the UNESCO-listed village of Dürnstein to wander for a bit on your own. Here you’ll find the ruins of Kuenringer Castle, where King Richard the Lionheart was famously held captive in the 12th century.

Reunite with your guide for a final visit to a family-run winery. Purchase a lunch served in a typical family run restaurant (sample menu available in the Itinerary) or bring your own lunch, if you prefer to do so . Afterward, relax by the Danube River, playing a round of beach volleyball or taking a cool dip.

Your trip will conclude with a brief cruise across the Danube. Then hop aboard the train and enjoy a glass of wine while traveling back to Vienna.

I have traveled a lot through Europe over the past few years and this tour was the seriously one of the most memorable things I've ever done. Everything was so beautiful, I highly recommend!

It was a very fun tour along the river and through the vineyards. We had opportunities to stop for some photos, but not much time to walk around in the small towns. We only visited two wineries, but drank a lot of wine! We had a nice lunch together in a restaurant. We also had a chance to hike up to see some ruins and amazing views. Highly recommend this tour!

Adam led a group trip with two of us on a cold, rainy day! He was friendly and knowledgeable and made the day feel like a day among friends rather than a tour - which for me is everything you could ask for when traveling abroad! He also made everything very seamless and travel easy. The scenery was absolutely stunning and I'm sure it would have been even better in good weather. But the provided ponchos made the rain pretty fine. The wine was delicious as was the lunch. All in all a great day, from the scenery to Adam's leadership.

This tour was fantastic! It was well organized and our guide was knowledgeable, charismatic, and great with kids. It was a perfect amount of biking and you can and #39;t beat the views! Definitely would recommend to anyone interested in getting out of the city.

Our Wachau Valley Bike Tour was one of the real highlights of our trip. We were paired with 11 or 12 other bikers and rode about 16 miles along the Danube and through wine country. On the way we stopped for two wine tastings 3-4 samples each and lunch. Our tour leader, James, was fabulous and added to the fun for the day. The group asked to stop and a third winery and James was happy to extend our trip, even though it was well past the scheduled time. This is a must-do trip!

We had such a great time on this tour. Our guide, Ace, was awesome in every way. He was very knowledgeable about the wines, the region, the history and did a good job of making everyone feel welcome and safe. The lunch was perfect and all taken care of by Ace well in advance so we didn't have to wait long once at the restaurant. The bike ride was easy and we were never riding more than about 20 minutes between wineries. This was by far the best experience we have had in all our travels in Europe and would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Thanks for such a great day, Ace!

Absolutely loved this tour. We had a great time seeing the Wachau Valley by bike. You see and experience the towns much better by bike then by bus! We stopped at fun, local wineries and our guide was very knowledgeable.
