This was the highlight of our vacation. We had around 18 people, the guides were great and the visits to the wineries in the countryside were amazing. I would recommend this to everyone.
This was by far one of the highlights of our 3-week trip to Central Europe. The bike tour was perhaps the most scenic bike tour we have taken through small towns, vinyards, and along the Danube River. We cannot image a better way to see the beautiful Austrian countryside. One word of constructive criticism, however, to the tour operator - upgrade the quality of bikes. For a 24 km bike tour, the bikes should have been more efficient and easier to ride. They felt like a cross between a beach bike and a low-end hybrid. Despite this, we would highly recommend this tour.
Great tour in Wachau Valley
Great spanish guide
Great day between friends of all over the world !!!
I recomend this fantastic bike tour
If you like wine, scenic beauty, the outdoors, culture and meeting new people, then this is the trip for you. My wife and I had a terrific time. The guides, Anna and Thomas were great and the route and locations were perfect. The sights are breathtaking and hills not difficult. A day well spent - highly recommended.
This trip was excellent. The tour guides were Jose and Tomas. The tour guides make sure your bikes are working and they don't leave anyone behind. The tour starts at 9:30AM and you don't get back until around 7pm. The tour guides were are also quite knowledgeable about wine making and enology in general. We went to 2 wineries and had several tastes of wine produced from each winery. Lunch provided the opportunity to taste New wine from another winery. The scenery you are biking through is absolutely beautiful. Austria does not export much of its wine and this tour is an excellent way to tastes and learn about their wine. If you are staying in Vienna I suggest you take this bike ride as an Austrian wine primer. It was definitely worth the time and it was fun as well!
Truly outstanding trip, this was the best thing we did in Vienna for our group of 4. Highly recommended.

A I loved this tour. Lovely bike ride on flat quiet roads and bike lanes along the Danube. The train ride to the departure point was lovely. The guide Tomas did a super job. The winery visits were super. The schnitzel lunch was at a nice bar type restaurant in Pasau. This town was a nice place to shop. It rained briefly towards the end but that was fine. Vienna Explorer provided rain parkas. This is a relaxing way to experience Austrian countryside and wineries on a day trip. No question that I would book again. It was pure enjoyment and beauty.
I was surprised that some reviews mentioned unexpected difficult climbs. There were really none. We might have climbed 30-50 feet in Pasau or maybe a 1 elevation change a few times. Easy cycling. The guide was vigilant to his guests and questioned us if he was cycling at an enjoyable speed. The speed was slow and casual - perfect for the scenery we were seeing.
Amazing bike tour through the Wacchau Valley! Jonaj not sure if I spelled that right was our guide and he made the experience run super smoothly. We met really great people on the tour and tasted delicious wine - my favorite was the Domane Rose. I was a bit wobbly on the bike at first because they were kind of heavy, but after a few glasses of wine, I was straight as an arrow and ready to take off! The views were gorgeous. The day was a bit overcast, which actually was nice because it wasn't too hot. Our lunch in town was delicious - I only wish we got to spend a bit more time there walking around because it looked quaint and medieval almost. We'll have to go back!
Such a great day trip from Vienna. Jose was a wonderful guide. Our group was amazing. I think there was only 10 of us which was a small group. The biking was a bit strenuous at times if you don't regularly bike. It was also a bit fast paced but enjoyable. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get some exercise on a vacation as well as see a beautiful part of the country.
This tour was my favourite part of travelling through Vienna, Austria. Our tour guide Jose was very knowledgeable throughout the entire tour, the group size and duration were perfect, had great value for your money and I couldn't have asked for a better day to take this tour on!
This may have been the highlight of our trip. Our guide was great - informative, relaxed but yet kept good track of us. The bikes were really easy to ride it was nice that they had baskets on each bike for our backpacks and the roads were generally nice and flat. Definitely worth doing!
This tour was amazing. I would highly recommend for everyone. Even if you are not a big wine person like me. The cycling through the amazing scenery, the optional hike up to a ruined castle and the tour guide were top class. Must do if you are in Vienna!
One of the highlights of my holiday! This trip ran so smoothly, the staff were very friendly and professional, and everyone had a good time. There were about 20 - 30 of us with 2 guides. I was a single traveler and I found the relaxed atmosphere of this tour an easy way to meet people. The weather was very nice, although we didn't go swimming in the Danube it was quite brown. The majority of the time you are cycling rather than wine tasting and after the second wine tasting session I was able to ride my bike with no handle bars. 100 would recommend this tour!
Vienna is a very beautiful city and this tour was better than anything I did in Vienna. I loved this day and would love to do it again sometime. Highly recommended. The guide Jose was excellent. Nice one hour train ride to Krems an der Donau and then the cycle ride to Dürnstein. The bikes were good quality. Wine stops were great. The food at lunchtime was surprisingly good, coming from a veggie who tends to struggle on organised tours. It rained and rained quite a lot so beware, in these hills in the summer it rains a bit. My only request would be that they renew the poncho's. They were quite smelly. People with the blue ones were dry at the end of the day. People with the grey ones were wet. Not worthy of making it 4 though. This is a 5 trip and you'll always remember it.
Had a great time! Don't forget your swimsuit as a dip in the river on a hot day is wonderful! We had a few people (ages 50+) from the group take a bus back to the train station because they found the ride a little too challenging in the heat. Jose, our wonderful guide was happy to accommodate them.

We met at the bicycle tour shop in Vienna and our guide escorted us to the underground train station from where we went to the regular overground station to get on the train for Krems. The train ride to Krems was very smooth. After arriving in Krems we were asked to choose our bikes at the storage site a short walk from the station. We started biking and were soon in the countryside. We got to take beautiful pictures of the outskirts of Krems and soon arrived at the first winery where we were given wine for tasting. It so happens that the wine in this region is almost all white wine - I usually drink red - but I enjoyed it all the same. Subsequently we had lunch in a little town called Durnstein. Before lunch we had an opportunity to hike up to the castle - Ruine Durnstein - where king Richard was held for ransom while returning from the crusades in AD 1192. After lunch we biked to Melk and visited the second winery. Afterward we biked back to Krems and got on the train to Vienna. Excellent family trip. Highly recommend.
Fantastic wines and tour guide, and the bikes were better than expected. Would absolutely recommend this tour!
This tour was one of the highlights of our 3-week, 4-country European vacation. It was great to spend a day in the beautiful Austrian wine country. This is a full-day tour - we didn't get back until about 7:00 PM. You will ride a full 15 miles and there are a few short inclines that require a little bit of effort, so it's good to be at least somewhat proficient at cycling If you haven't been on a bike in 20 years, this may not be the tour for you. We are 65 and 68, usually ride about 10 miles and had no problem keeping up.
Our guide was Jose and he did a great job at pacing the day, keeping the group together, making sure we had time for everything on the agenda, but never making us feel rushed. Our first stop was a small village where we had the chance to climb up to an old fortress my husband and I opted to visit a local historical church instead, then visited our first winery. We were able to order lunch ahead for 10 euros per person and ate in another village, after which we rode to the 2nd winery. Jose was knowledgeable about the the area and the delicious wines we were tasting. On the way back, we had a chance to take a dip in the Danube, a welcome break on a very hot day. The route was mostly on bike paths and we felt safe the entire time. We highly recommend this well-run tour.
We had a wonderful time on this tour and the Austrian countryside was beautiful. The weather did not cooperate for a part of the day so the planned stops were changed a bit, unfortunately. Overall though, this was a great way to get out of the city, get a little exercise and see the beautiful vineyards. The wine was pretty good too. It is a full day with quite a bit of travel time out and back on the tram and train so before booking, make sure you can afford to spend an entire day of your vacation on this experience. My husband and I are experienced riders and found the biking to be very leisurely however, our daughter and a couple others on the tour thought the riding was much more difficult than they had thought it would be so it really depends on your level of fitness and biking experience.
Great day and truly enjoyed Austria wine country. Our group had about 17 plus a tour guide. Amil was a great, super helpful and made sure we all got the best out of the day.
Can't wait to go again !
This tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Vienna. The ride was relatively easy, however, the scenery was spectacular and the was pleasantly surprised by the wineries. Had the pleasure of touring with Amir - he was fun and knowledgeable and made the tour that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend.
A huge highlight of my Europe trip. I backpacked solo in Europe for a few weeks and wanted to partake in a wine tasting. Austria has such a beautiful countryside. The bike ride was rather easy and they were very generous with the wine. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and truly enjoyed his job.
This tour was superb. Our guide was so knowledgable and went out of his way to ensure our lunch was great and our tour was comfortable.he made this trip a memorable one for life .this is a must do trip when visiting vienna!
This was an awesome bike tour of the Wachau valley. We rode about 15 miles all told, and also climbed to the top of a hill to get a view from the castle where Richard the Lionhearted was imprisoned. It was hot and the highlight for me was swimming fully clothed in the Danube on the way back to the train station. The bicycling was relatively hard in the heat and about a third of the group opted to take a bus back rather than bike the second half of the journey.
