Why Our Insiders Chose This Tour

There are walking tours and there are bus tours, but this unique eCruiser tour of the Capitol provides an entirely new perspective on the city of Washington, DC and its many famous landmark locations.

Meet the guide and the rest of the small-group at L’Enfant Metro Stop, located at the corner of 7th and C Street. Then climb aboard a nifty eCruiser vehicle — an open-air, eco-friendly electric cart that offers as much in style as it does with substance.

The tour begins at one end of the famed Smithsonian Institution, the world's largest museum and research complex. Travel along through the historic monument areas, taking in the famous Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington Monuments, each a classic Washington DC icon in its own right. Then see the World War I, World War II, Korean War Veterans and the Vietnam Veterans memorial sites.

Next, see the most famous DC landmark of all, the White House, followed by Capitol Hill. Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

Great way to visit main sites in Washington DC in a small group with a guide. Travelling around in electric cart was easy and allowed for quick hop on hop off at various sites. Rachel, our guide was great fun and very informative, she really made the trip for us. Our 2 teenage daughters also really enjoyed it and the fact that it was just two hours was perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Although it was cold and raining, the driver/guide did an excellent job of narrating, providing history too.

Monte was a fantastic tour guide. The electric cart tour was the perfect way to begin our exploration of DC and helped us prioritize what we wanted to see in the few days we had in DC. We felt lucky to get such a fun and knowledgeable tour guide - Monte did such a fantastic job and exceeded our expectations.

Our tour guide, Stephen, was AWESOME! He made our trip fun and educational. This tour is a great way to see the highlights of the city and then decide where you want to spend more time. We did get to spend time at the Capital, then one or other (though we were able to squeeze in both by being quick!) Lincoln or Vietnam War Memorial, and the MLK memorial. The rest were drive-by's, but Stephen was great at stopping at places for great photo ops.

Pros:
-Stephen! So informative! I think a tour guide can make or break your trip and he was fabulous.
-No other way could you get in this much sight seeing in such a short amount of time.
-Small tour group - car can fit 7 riders max.
-'Open air' car - got a good breeze throughout the ride that kept us cool in 90 degree heat.
-Tour guide has flexibility with where to drop you off (so you could hit one of the Smithsonian's for example and have 'free' drop off right there!
-Great for families with older children - because of so much to see and not stopping much, the kids stayed interested the whole time.

Cons:
-If you want to stop and spend time at all monuments, you don't get to do this on the tour. I thought the description on their website can make it sound like you don't stop anywhere, but you do get a few in.
-Not sure how younger kids would do on this tour. But then, why are you taking young kids to D.C.? You might just rethink your vacation spot!

Recommendation: Book this tour EARLY in your trip so you can make better choices on where to spend the rest of your time. You could spend WEEKS in D.C. and not see it all!

This was a great way to start our week in DC. Mike our tour guide and driver was exceptional. He knew the history, sights and inside stories about not only the historical sites around the National Mall but also the buildings and culture of the city. He made us feel right at home. Two thumbs up for Mike. I would highly recommend this tour and ask for Mike. Thanks again.
