What You Can Expect

Viator Exclusive: Washington Monument Reserved Admission with DC Landmarks and Memorials Tour

Covering four acres, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial memorial opened to the public on August 22, 2011

This exclusive Viator tour begins at the United States Navy Memorial on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 7th Street NW and 9th Street NW in Washington, DC. Climb on board a comfortable, air-conditioned coach for a 4-hour sightseeing adventure that highlights some of the most popular landmarks in the area.

Begin with a drive by the White House, the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States of America, and the United States Capitol, often called Capitol Hill, the seat of the United States Congress.

The first stop is at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a national memorial honoring those US service members of the armed forces who fought, died or went missing in the Vietnam War. Then see the Lincoln Memorial, honoring Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States; the Korean War Veterans Memorial, commemorating those who served in the Korean War; the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, dedicated to one of the nation’s founding fathers and author of the Declaration of Independence and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, honoring the icon of the civil rights movement.

Finally, visit the popular Washington Monument on the National Mall. A reserved entry ticket will be provided, granting quicker access with no waiting in line. Once inside and after a brief security screening, proceed to the ground floor lobby for an elevator ride to the observation deck 500 feet off the ground. Enjoy a stellar view of the entire region from this unique vantage point atop the world's tallest obelisk monument. Also, visit the 490-foot level museum and exhibits before concluding the tour with an elevator descent to the lobby.

Viator Exclusives combine unique experiences and great deals — from traditional tours to once-in-a-lifetime experiences — and are not available from other third party online sellers.

**The Washington Monument is closed due to elevator maintenance.  In lieu of this stop, additional stops have been added to this tour as well as a (seasonal) Potomac River cruise.

The tour was excellent. Unfortunately, the Washington Monument was closed, but as a result we got to see all of the monuments except for WWII, due to some event or road construction issues, and we also got to see the Battle of the Buldge Monument in Arlington Cemetery. Our guide was excellent, had a good sense of humor, and always made sure everyone was present before he started talking at the monument sites. We did stop for lunch at one of the park refreshment stands - food just OK, but the tour can't control that.

Joey our Tour Guide and Sam our Driver provided us with an excellent tour of DC. Joey provided a lot more information than you would expect from a Tour Guide and it made our visit even better than we expected. Sam was very polite and efficient and was always waiting to take us to the next point.

We failed to reach our designated starting point for the tour as a result of a failure of the subway track. The tour operators were very gracious in allowing us to reschedule for the next day.
Our tour guide Joey was excellent. She was very casual in her presentation with the knowledge of a history professor. It was a very enjoyable tour

We really enjoyed our tour that ended with a trip up the inside of the Washington Monument. We really enjoyed our guide and the selection of monuments chosen. It was the perfect amount of time for each stop and the bus was extremely comfortable in the summer heat of the city.

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Brian. We began right on time with a mini-bus that probably could seat 30 people. We started at the capital building, then off to the white house and admin buildings. Brian was very knowledgeable about the history of each location and added extra details that we all found helpful. We visited I think every monument, ending at the Washington Monument around 2 with timed admission. There is no way we could have covered this ground on our own and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend

Took my grandchildren for their first trip to DC. Very informative and they were asking questions about everything during and after the trip. Great experience.

The Washington Monument was closed due to elevator problems. Al and Ralph did a good job of expanding the other parts of the tour. What was scheduled for four hours actually ended up about five hours.
