Viator VIP: Best of DC Including US Capitol and National Archives Reserved Access, the White House and Lincoln Memorial

Visit the Lincoln Memorial

Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group at the US Capitol Visitor Center to begin this Viator VIP tour — a full-day tour of the US Capitol, a National Archives tour and a best of DC tour rolled into one.

Enjoy reserved entry into the United States Capitol for a guided walking tour of this historic building, home to the Senate and the House of Representatives. Watch a film on the history of government in the US, then continue exploring the building to learn about the country’s legislature. Along the way, see the Crypt, the large circular area on the first floor that supports the Rotunda, as well as National Statuary Hall, a chamber devoted to sculptures of prominent Americans and more.

Then return to the shuttle to look around and through the nation’s capital. See the outside of the United States Capitol and the White House, with stops at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the US Navy Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

This tour also features a scenic, seasonal 1-hour boat cruise along the Potomac River (mid-March to mid-October only). Lunch (included) is available on board the boat. Outside of those dates, visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City for shopping and lunch (price of lunch included).

At the end of the tour, gain priority entrance into the National Archives Building for an up-close look at the original Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. These historic documents are housed in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. Also, enjoy access to the Public Vaults, a permanent exhibit gallery with fascinating original records, like Abraham Lincoln's telegrams to his generals, and much more.

The tour concludes at the National Archives Building.

Front of the line at the Capitol Building and National Archives, great tour of the buildings, most of the major monuments on the mall, and a wealth of information! We got lucky and had great weather most of the day. To my surprise, the river cruise was my least favorite part of the tour perhaps because I was a bit chilled but it came at the perfect time, because we were starving and the food was great. It was an all around great tour and our tour guide, Christopher, was fantastic!

This is the only way to tour DC. The guides were well informed and hoping on and off of the bus was way better than trying to do this on your own. We saw so much that day and highly recommend this tour.

Christopher and Ceasar ensured that we enjoyed an action packed information filled day which was smooth and safe. We toured the Capitol building, visited the war memorials including WWII, Korea and Vietnam, enjoyed our packed lunch on a cruise up the Potomac river and our tour ended at the National Archives with sight of the Declaration of independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Highly recommended!!!

Our tour guide Nick was outstanding! Nonstop historical information, details and jokes! Very warm and entertaining! The only problem was the freezing rain/hail all day during the tour. Still a great day and worth it.

You should ask for Nick! Great tour, lots of fun, extremely well read and knowledgeable. Wonderful tour, weather was cold but we'd recommend this tour to everyone. The VIP perk gets you past long lines in a couple places so worth the money.
