Visit the Lincoln Memorial

Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group at the US Capitol Visitor Center to begin this Viator VIP tour — a full-day tour of the US Capitol, a National Archives tour and a best of DC tour rolled into one.

Enjoy reserved entry into the United States Capitol for a guided walking tour of this historic building, home to the Senate and the House of Representatives. Watch a film on the history of government in the US, then continue exploring the building to learn about the country’s legislature. Along the way, see the Crypt, the large circular area on the first floor that supports the Rotunda, as well as National Statuary Hall, a chamber devoted to sculptures of prominent Americans and more.

Then return to the shuttle to look around and through the nation’s capital. See the outside of the United States Capitol and the White House, with stops at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the US Navy Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

This tour also features a scenic, seasonal 1-hour boat cruise along the Potomac River (mid-March to mid-October only). Lunch (included) is available on board the boat. Outside of those dates, visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City for shopping and lunch (price of lunch included).

At the end of the tour, gain priority entrance into the National Archives Building for an up-close look at the original Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. These historic documents are housed in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. Also, enjoy access to the Public Vaults, a permanent exhibit gallery with fascinating original records, like Abraham Lincoln's telegrams to his generals, and much more.

The tour concludes at the National Archives Building.

What an awesome way to see and learn about all the important things of Washington DC in one day. Kam did a wonderful job explaining the points of interest. We saw Capitol Building, National Archives, about seven memorials, and had a delicious lunch on a Potomac River lunch cruise. High energy activity and definitely worth the money.

We took this tour because of the sites included in the tour, and the quicker access provided by booking with the tour. Our guide, Christopher, was excellent. He brought knowledge of the locale, and history, along with a good sense of humor. The day went by quickly, but he and our driver (Thomas) kept us on track and on schedule without being overly regimented. I definitely would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the best of DC in one day. It does involve much walking, but that provides time for interaction with the guide. On our tour, it utilized a mid-sized bus/van that allowed us to be dropped off close to each site and Thomas was always there to pick us up at the most convenient place. Not much wasted effort at all.

The tours was will paced and we covered a lot of ground... so many sites/monuments/memorials were visited. We took one of our grandsons (11yrs) and he loved it. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather too. NICK was our guide and he was FANTASTIC... pleasant, cordial, funny/whitty and informative... just a nice guy and he was a pleasure to be with. We would go back and ask for him again.

WOW! This one covers all the bases! I live in DC and wanted a tour which would introduce out of town guests to the best of DC. Fast paced, but fun packed. Our tour guide Christopher was excellent, as was our tour driver Tony. Christopher was energetic and very informative. Tony, a careful driver. The best of both worlds! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has a short window of time in which to visit DC. Most bang for your buck!

It was very comprehensive, unfortunately it rained during our tour. It would have been helpful if they had umbrellas.

We were able to handle the fast-paced, whirlwind tour just perfectly with three teenagers because of the air-conditioned, luxury limo-bus. Caesar and Joe were a great team!

Nick was very knowledgeable. He had a wonderful personality and was extremely patient with all of us. We could not have asked for a better guide. We only had one day to spend in DC and the tour gave us a great over all observation of our nNation Capital. Thank you Nick.
