Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group at the US Capitol Visitor Center to begin this Viator VIP tour — a full-day tour of the US Capitol, a National Archives tour and a best of DC tour rolled into one.

Enjoy reserved entry into the United States Capitol for a guided walking tour of this historic building, home to the Senate and the House of Representatives. Watch a film on the history of government in the US, then continue exploring the building to learn about the country’s legislature. Along the way, see the Crypt, the large circular area on the first floor that supports the Rotunda, as well as National Statuary Hall, a chamber devoted to sculptures of prominent Americans and more.

Then return to the shuttle to look around and through the nation’s capital. See the outside of the United States Capitol and the White House, with stops at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Marine Corps War Memorial, the US Navy Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

This tour also features a scenic, seasonal 1-hour boat cruise along the Potomac River (March 15 to October 16). Lunch is available for purchase on board the boat. Outside of those dates, visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City for shopping and lunch (own expense).

At the end of the tour, gain priority entrance into the National Archives Building for an up-close look at the original Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. These historic documents are housed in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. Also, enjoy access to the Public Vaults, a permanent exhibit gallery with fascinating original records, like Abraham Lincoln's telegrams to his generals, and much more.

The tour was excellent. Nick was a great guide. Tony did a good job on the driving. One of the sites on the schedule was not available, but they were able to adapt very well and get a suitable substitute for us. The history and background provided for each site was helpful, interesting and intelligent. I recommend this tour and these hosts even though some of the jokes bad and corny.

The tour was wonderful. Nick was our tour guide and Tony was the motor coach driver. Nick was funny, very informative, and a pleasure to be with. Tony did a great job driving, and the coach was very comfortable and clean. I would not even consider using a different company.

Excellent tour! This was a great way to see many sites that would have been difficult to do on foot or car. The tour guide was awesome! Full of great information. He was a monuments fan and had so much history to share as we moved along. The tour of the US Capitol was wonderfully thorough. We got to see some areas not on the regular tours. Wish we could have gotten closer to the White House but we did get to see the grounds. The lunch on the Potomac was beautiful. Worth the price!

An awesome tour. Big ups to Viator VIP. Everything was well-organized and timely. Our tour guide Andrew and driver Sam were excellent. Andrew is deeply versed in the history of this city and his narrations were sprinkled with good humor. Truly enjoyed the experience. Our driver Sam was very kind and accommodated us we had our toddler and her stroller on board. Thank you Andrew and Sam!

Great tour and great tour guide. Christopher did a great job of explaining what we were seeing, where we were going with interesting comments about every location. A great way to start and visit and get a sense of what the DC area near the center of our federal government is all about.

Nick our tour guide was crisp with facts and information with his knowledge of DC plus was entertaining during our bus ride. Tony our bus driver drove carefully through the DC streets and always got his passengers as close as possible to each site. Would recommend the VIP tour.

This tour covers everything! There is quite a bit of walking, but we really got information and time to spend at each war memorial and presidential memorials. Our tour guide was energetic and had lots of extra interesting stories.

Very informative and interesting tour. Our guide, Nick was great fun and it was obvious that he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with us. The tour is done at a fast pace but with enough time to see and experience everything. We met lots of interesting people on the tour. Lunch was above expectations and the trip on the river a chance to relax and catch our breath. Our driver Lee was very much part of the team and greeted us with water every time we returned to the coach. I would recommend this tour. We saw more of Washington in a day than most people would have seen in a week if left to their own planning. If you get a chance to have nick for a guide, that would be the icing on the cake.
