Meet the guide and the rest of the tour group at the US Capitol Visitor Center to begin this Viator VIP tour — a full-day tour of the US Capitol, a National Archives tour and a best of DC tour rolled into one.

Enjoy reserved entry into the United States Capitol for a guided walking tour of this historic building, home to the Senate and the House of Representatives. Watch a film on the history of government in the US, then continue exploring the building to learn about the country’s legislature. Along the way, see the Crypt, the large circular area on the first floor that supports the Rotunda, as well as National Statuary Hall, a chamber devoted to sculptures of prominent Americans and more.

Then return to the shuttle to look around and through the nation’s capital. See the outside of the United States Capitol and the White House, with stops at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the US Navy Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Along the way, hear the historic stories and facts that make the city of Washington, DC one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States.

This tour also features a scenic, seasonal 1-hour boat cruise along the Potomac River (mid-March to mid-October only). Lunch (included) is available on board the boat. Outside of those dates, visit the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City for shopping and lunch (price of lunch included).

At the end of the tour, gain priority entrance into the National Archives Building for an up-close look at the original Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. These historic documents are housed in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. Also, enjoy access to the Public Vaults, a permanent exhibit gallery with fascinating original records, like Abraham Lincoln's telegrams to his generals, and much more.

Nick was our tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable. The tour was thorough and good. Would have liked to have seen the Iwo Jima statue but did not. The water boat tour was pretty much a waste of time. Walked a lot. But good tour overall.

I had the great pleasure to do this tour recently with my wife - DC naturally can’t be completed in one day but this tour efficiently captures some of the most incredible sites and memorials to give you a remarkable view of US history over an 8 hour period. Our guide Henry was an absolute star, deeply knowledgeable, entertaining and highly organized. He expertly marshaled us through an unforgettable experience.

This tour was fantastic! All you needed to see was including in the tour. The tour guide Nick McCall was knowledgeable and funny. He was friendly and answered all our questions when asked. The driver Rahel was as excellent too. It was a smooth ride all day. I recommend this tour to anyone that visits DC. So far my favorite tour in that city!

Wear your walking shoes and bring an energy bar because you get your money worth! This tour takes you to so many sites and gives you many opportunities for bathroom breaks. Our guide, Josh, was informative, interactive, high energy and entertaining. Though Josh continually took a headcount, he encouraged ‘the buddy system’ to look for our bus/boat ride neighbors which made for a friendly atmosphere during the day’s excursion. We got to meet people from all over the world who visited the USA Capitol. This tour maximizes your time to see many monuments and our tour guide shared local insight. Thanks, Josh for making our tour of DC so much fun!Kevin and Denise
