2 day hop on & off

Spent most of our time waiting for buses. Took a shuttle to Arlington Cemetery late in the day we were NOT informed the last shuttle to return from Arlington was 5pm so after waiting, waiting , waiting in the heat I called & was casually informed no shuttle would be provided. Terrible tour company! Pick ANY OTHER!
We've never taken a Hop-on Hop-off Bus Tour and were really excited about it. We had mobile passes bought in advance online. But the website didn't say that we could have boarded at any stop so we hustled over to the purchase location stop and just missed the last departure. (The website also did not mention when the last departure was.) We tried to make it to one of the next stops to board, like the bus driver going off duty suggested, and although we tried, we had some elderly and infirm in our group and could not make it. It was very discouraging to push so hard to get to a stop (and walk past several other stops in the process) only to miss the bus... not to mention trying to walk so fast to get to one of the other stops and not making it. The tour may be great, but the website sucks.
I bought a 2 day ticket and it wasn't long enough to see everything by getting off and on. Very glad to learn about the circulator bus that is free and goes to the same places. We have the information from the hop on hop off commentator and can see the rest of what we want with the circulator for free.
When we arrived into union station we had to take a taxi to the L'Enfant plaza while other hop on hop off bus tours sat at the station waiting to just sell the tickets. Once at the plaza we had no app to use and felt like other hop on hop off operators that we have used in other cities were friendlier and more helpful. I was given a leaflet with a phone number to reserve a place on the night tour, phoned from my English phone, put on hold for a couple of minutes to then be informed I would need to phone back. We never got to use the night tour. The second day we never used. I have used various hop on and hop off tour companies in different cities and always found them invaluable, this is the first time I have felt disappointed .
Absolutely unreliable ruined my whole day in DC. April 16. 2019

Was at air & space. 12:45 for the 1:00 trolly it never came! At 2:30 had to pay a taxi. $15 to take me to to my next stop of my tour. While I waited at air and space for DC trails trolly. 3 trolleys from Old town trolly picked up and. 3 trollies from Big Bus picked up their passangers, Every. 30. I minutes, just as. DC trails promised to do for me! But did NOT. The representatives at air and space said it was traffic delaying the DC trails trolly. But how could thr other trollies get though the traffic, but only DC trails trolly be delayed ?? Don’t Use this company !,
The staff on the buses were great. Very helpful and informative. Our Uber driver had a hard time finding the place for pick up. But it would be helpful to let people know about the other stops to get on. We had Uber from a place close by one of the stops. But overall this was a great way to see DC for first time visitors.
Our 1st day which was a Sunday, the tour bus moderator had very little interest in his job function. DC was not busy because of the holiday and a weekend, however we waited for 45-60 min for buses. Ended up taking uber multiple times. We had the two day tour and barely used it the 2nd day.. Didn’t even go on the night portion, worried we were going to get stranded.. Its the 1st Time we’ve had issues with a hop on hop off service. I’ve used various companies in New York, Chicago, etc.I wouldn’t recommend
We enjoyed our tour bus trips while in DC. The drivers were respectful and helpful as well as safe drivers. We had two tour guides-Ken and Henry. They both were very knowledgeable, friendly, funny and helpful. They made the rides very enjoyable. Henry was awesome on the twilight tour. His knowledge on the sites was very impressive. He told me things I did not know about the memorials. He also made a point of making sure we knew the rules and to follow them. I would recommend both Henry and Ken as tour guides. I would have no issues scheduling another bus tour with company. Thank you.
