This was a great tour and saw more historical sites on the tour than just the two mentioned. I would highly recommend this tour! Unforgettable!
Definitely recommend this tour - time at Arlington was limited so we were only able to see the changing of the guard and wreath laying ceremony. We had 90 minutes and that wasn't enough time to see more as you have to wait for the hop on and hop off trolleys they have and it all takes time.
Great tour! Mount Vernon was fascinating and Arlington Cemetery moving! The Arlington House has such history and was a special moment on the tour. Our tour guide was excellent.
Unfortunately it did rain all day but we still had a very interesting day. The driver was excellent with loads of interesting facts and information. Would definitely recommend.
The tour of Mount Vernon and the Arlington Cemetery were great.
The driver has been with the company for 25 years and he did an excellent job of
describing things on the way to both places besides telling us extra stories about
Another stellar tour with Viator. This tour was both educational, emotional and fun. The changing of the guard at Arlington was amazing to watch. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the entire tour a most pleasant experience.
Great day spent touring Mt. Vernon and Arlington national cemetery. Bus was very comfortable and driver was extremely knowledgeable. Had lunch in the restaurant at mt Vernon. It was very good and the service was great. There were period dressed actors on the grounds which added to the pleasant experience.
Mount Vernon is a real must if you stay a week in DC. The view over the Potomac, and the quality in which the plantation and mansion have been preserved were incredibly beautiful. The audio-guide included in the ticket, the guides in the mansion and the actors playing the original plantation workers gave interesting insights in how life during George and Martha's time must have been.
The afternoon visit to Arlington Cemetery was a nice filler for the whole day. One point of note, not diminishing the tour's worth in itself: if a summer storm breaks out while visiting the cemetery, do not get off the trolley unless you want to risk getting soaked as there is hardly any shelter on the grounds.
We enjoyed our tour through the home of George Washington, but walking through the estate was the best part. The tour guides around the area were so informative and it was wonderful to stroll around the places that Washington loved. I was so surprised by how many presidents and dignitaries have visited his tomb and home.
Good guide ,comfortable bus always ontime, alot of time to enjoy the sites
Our tour guide , Wayne , was phenomenal . He knew more about Washington DC, Alexandria , General Washington , and Mount Vernon than any book or website I have ever seen ! He also showed us the church where General Washington worshipped , and Fort Washington with a photo opportunity . Wayne also recommended the amount Vernon Inn for lunch , and it was a great restaurant with friendly service and delicious food . I can think of nothing negative to say about our day . My husband and I were with our two daughters , who are in their 20s . Something for everyone . Awesome day !
We loved our tour to Arlington and Mount Vernon...Even thought it was 100 degrees!! The sites were great and amazing to see but the tour was amazing because of our tour guide AL. I was traveling with myself and 3 teenagers Age 14-16 and Al was so great to include them and make them feel part of the tour. They have mentioned numerous times that Al was the best part of their trip to Washington DC. Book and ask for AL...you wont be disappointed!
This trip is a must do if you are visiting DC. Big Al was an amazing tour guide! Plenty of time to explore the sites and Big Al gives you great suggestions as to how you can get the most of your experience.
Things have changed since my last visit in 2004. I enjoy the update to Mount Vernon surroundings like the theater and food court.
This was a wonderful experience. Well paced, great driver/guide, comfortable. Mt. Vernon is beautiful, and the education center was fabulous. Arlington National Cemetery is mind-blowing. My only disappointment is that the Iwo Jima Memorial is listed as a destination, but it is actually at the Cemetery. I didn't understand that and missed the stop on the tram.
Guide was very knowledgable. Had a great tour and had plenty of time to see it
Big Al went above and beyond. More than we expected. We had a great day. Thanks.
Although booked through Viator as the Washington DC Supersaver: Mount Vernon and Arlington National Cemetery Tour, this tour was conducted by Gray Line. This tour was EXCELLENT and our guide/driver Big Al was SUPURB. There is nothing negative AT ALL that can be said about this tour.
This tour was great! We saw everything. There was plenty of time at each site to take pictures and hear about the site. It brought back memories from high school when I was lucky enough to be chosen to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Thanks for the wonderful tour!
