Make your way to the Wellington Central Train station, where you’ll board a train along the beautiful Kapiti Coast, passing through New Zealand’s longest train tunnel on your way to Paraparaumu station, a roughly one-hour trip.
Upon arrival at Paraparaumu station, a representative will meet you and bring you to the helipad, where you’ll get a short safety briefing before lifting off. The pilot will narrate the scenic, 15-minute sightseeing flight, as you bank over Kapiti Island and the Inner Islands, getting aerial views of the small nature reserve.
The helicopter will touch touch at the Southward Car Museum, the largest private car collection in the southern hemisphere. This tour includes entrance to the museum, and you’ll have 90 minutes to tour the collection on your own, browsing more than 400 cars, motorbikes, and planes, and one eye-catching vintage fire engine.
Meet a driver for transfer to the final stop of the day, Tuatara Brewing Company, where you’ll have a tasting of their own house made beers paired with cheeses from Kapiti Cheese. This tour concludes with the return trip to Wellington Central Train Station on the Kapiti Coast train.
