Cannot fault our trip. Transport arrived spot on time and our guide Tony explained the days itinerary and timings. Driving was very professional and Tony's extensive knowledge of the area combined with his wit made it such an enjoyable experience.
Really glad we made the choice to go on this High Adventure. The weather was fair most of the journey, though at some points the sun showed up and we had some showers too. Our driver Jan is very reliable, informative and knowledgeable. When he was told of a road closed and possible queues, he took the option of a bypass through a one lane road and we had a great view of the mountains along the way. Everyone on the bus are pretty good on timings and overall, a very good trip for everyone.
Our experience started on time and Jim was our guide throughout the trip. We did have a wet start as it was raining but still managed to catch a glimpse of beautiful mountain ranges and valleys hidden between them. Later in the day the rain faded. We did many stops and went through so many passes whose roads were really narrow and steep edges bordered the roads. Jim handled the drive very smoothly. We got to ride the eskdale train, stopped for Lunch. Had a break at Wast water lake it was a beauty. Then drove around the mountain roads that gave us a glimpse of the Sea , the wind mill farms and Isle of Man at far sight. We visited an iron ore making furnace it was Huge.
Then was dropped back at our pick up point. Should say for first time visitors who don't fancy walking or trekking do take a trip to visit the spectacular mountain passes.
Love this tour! Lots of stops to take pictures of the amazing scenery and to see a variety of things.
Wow! this is a tour which should not be missed. The Mountain Goat Tour was exceptional with the driver's experience and knowledge being a major factor in our enjoyment of the day. The mountain pass roads were enthralling and surprised us around every corner. The visit to the Viking Church was very interesting and Iron Ore furnace was another highlight. The weather was not good but did not stop the enjoyment of the day.
A great way to see a few lakes and the roads that take you there.
The castle was remarkable.
Fantastic views of mountains and lots of sheep.
Friendly, informative and. (Most importantly) competent driver.
Plus got to ride a little steam or diesel train.
Would not even bother renting a car.
I use a walking frame, the driver made sure it was ready for me at every stop. He was also a very well informed about our trip and made the whole experience, very pleasant.
Knowing we had only limited time in the lakes, my SO and I decided to book this trip to maximize the time we had. I can't say enough wonderful things about the experience. We were treated to the most breathtaking scenes imaginable. While we were kept to a schedule, there were many opportunities to get out of the van to take pictures and otherwise bask in the beauty of the locations. Many thanks to the driver and staff!
Great trip, spectacular scenery despite the inclement weather, tour guide fabulous and his knowledge was excellent, lots of photo opportunities, nice small group, loved the falconry display
I don't know what happened, but I did give a review almost as soon as I got back. It was really lovely, and I would recommend it to anyone. The views were to be seen to be believed. Lovely tour guide too!
Derek, the driver, was both entertaining and open to suggestions as to our interests. His handling of the roads and the rain all the while telling us about the area and history was kind of amazing. It was pouring rain sometimes sideways, but he made it interesting all along. I couldn't take many pictures inside the bus but he stopped a couple of places so that we could get out and take some even in the rain. Then we went on this adorable little railroad, Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. We went about 4 stops just to give us a taste of it. Since it had stopped raining by then, I chose to go on the open but with a roof car while the others went into the enclosed cars. It was fine. Then off to Muncaster Castle to look around, see the castle and a bird show which was quite nice. We ate there on our own. After that, it was a long drive back to the hotel over dales and one lane roads and sometimes terrifying vistas. The sun came out briefly before the clouds came back. It rained off and on most of the day. It was a great tour. Derek was terrific. Would take it again!
Derek, very funny, informative and entertaining. Trip was very good too.
This tour is a fantastic way to see the Lake District. We had an exceptional tour guide/bus driver who knows his stuff. He was able to maneuver the tight corners of the tiny roads. He made many stops for pictures beautiful scenery and I could not have been more pleased. This tour is a great experience and must do.
Spectacular! Should also do ten Lakes to see the diversity of the slake District. We had sunshine in mid-September.
We missed the start time due to parking difficulties but the tour team swung into action and shipped us to a meet point with the tour adding the commentary we could have missed. A very good trip that showed the high passes of the Lake District to the best advantage, giving a very informative commentary on history and local knowledge of the area and adding stops with other enjoyable interest. An excellent day indeed!
Fantastic tour ,driver / guide was great The roads are a bit hairy but with the experience of our driver we had no fear.
The tour guide Elliot was informative and friendly. Was delighted with the tour. Thanks.

This was an outstanding and well balanced tour. We saw and experienced a lot of different things, with full marks going to our guide and driver for driving up and down the passes for a large part of the day. Amazing work.
A minor glitch with the microphone at the beginning but soon solved.
Would recommend it.
Very friendly and knowledgeable driver and guide including knowledge on ecology of the area, history, farming, buildings, sheep, etc. Very good driving - especially when having to maneuver or squeeze by oncoming traffic on the numerous single track roads with 2 way traffic. Really enjoyed how many sites we got to see on the tour and how far we went around the Lake District. We could never have seen as much or driven as far on our own. Tour is highly recommended especially if you don't have many days in the area or are first-time visitors to Cumbria.
Amazing day, very knowledgeable driver/guide called Peter, you see different angles /aspects of the Lake District, highly enjoyable, breathtaking views, enjoyable ride in steam train- a fun filled day.I was not aware of the passage of time, incredible experience.
Welcoming, friendly and knowledgebale tour guides. This tour allows you you see the countryside, small villages and history. I enjoyed the option to either be picked up or meet at the main location.
