Had a wonderful day - Whitby especially was spectacular! Even when overrun with tourists, this seaside town is full of atmosphere. Walking up the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey and admiring the views of the town below, listening to the seagulls and the wind gently blowing. Loved it!
Superlative. Our tour guide was the best--funny, informative and well organized! Just spent 17 days in the UK visiting Wales and the Yorkshire area. The trip to Whitby was the highlight of the trip! Our guide graciously asked the bus driver to drop several of us at the Abbey and let us walk down. It was fabulous. We got to see the Abbey and still had plenty of time to see the town of Whitby. Highly recommend this tour.
This tour was exactly as described on the website. The tour guide, Mark, was excellent and provided interesting demographics about each town we traveled through.
First visit to this part of England. Beautiful scenery . Our driver and guide Chris was excellent . The Steam train was a bonus the children loved it.
Really good day out, fun informative guide, the mores were beautiful, really nice stop in a scenic market village with an old castle, Whitby is really nice lots of shops and places to eat, there is the old side and new side, on the old side you can walk up to the ruined abbey, 109 steps! Beaches and amusements for kids. On the way back option of a short trip on a stream train, beautiful old southern engine on my trip. Only minor points seats on the minibus are a bit small but ok, Whitby has a few cobbled streets and if you go on the train you need to walk up and over a bridge to the other platform! The stop is hog warts
The trip into the North York Moors was the highlight of my two weeks in the UK. Every view was a picture postcard. It felt like you were on top of the world, looking down into the valleys below. I will visit this beautiful part of England again!
whitby is an interesting place,
the air was really windy in the moors, and there is not a really good spot/place in the moors to relax, so dont expect more for the moors, and dont take this tour if you really interested in moors
Excellent tour and the guide, Chris, was the best. He went above and beyond our expectations. He knew so much about the local area and had a ready answer to all of our questions, which were many. I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing tour. Tour guide, Christ was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Trip was great. Guide was good and well travelled. The Whitby leg was a bit short.
Driver/tour director Chris was great. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting throughout. We had rain and mist at times during the tour no surprise! and Chris cleaned the outside windows at each extended stop and cleaned the muddy aisles after our stops in the moors. My only criticism is the amount of time we spent in Whitby for lunch. Three hours was overkill. I left with the impression that Whitby is a commercial tourist trap. That is a pity since the pier area and old town streets are interesting...but three hours walking among tourist and fish and chip shops detracted from the beauty of the moors in the first part of the tour. I recommend reducing time in Whitby and adding a stop in a less commercial small town.
This is a great tour. I've done a lot of day bus tours in England and this is by far the best I've experienced. Mark is very focused on providing a good day for his guests. The Yorkshire Moors and Whitby are beautiful and the commentary provided enrich the day.
Very comprehensive tour across the Moors. Good morning tea stop in the market town of Helmsley. Driver/guide Mark went the extra mile in finding extra things to show us. Commentary very good. Lunch stop in Whitby on a hot Saturday was very busy. Enjoyed the Captain James Cook museum and our fish and chip lunch. The short train ride from Grosmont to Goathland was extra special and we loved the town of Goathland and the scenes of 'Heartbeat', the old cars in the street, 'Scripps' garage and the sheep roaming all round the town. Would recommend this tour but try not to be in Whitby on a weekend unless you like crowds.
A great day. Mark was superb. Very well organised and the times in each place was just right. Loved the ride on the steam train too
I really enjoyed this trip, very special North York.
Especially, the place of and #34;Heart Beats and #34;
Thank you very much for the unforgettable trip. Mark was a friendly and experienced conductor.
If it and #39;s possible I would like to visit the same area again in late summer.
the highlight of our trip! We were both so very glad we chose this tour. Our guide was very informed and extremely pleasant. If I could give it 10 stars I would. We walked the beach climbed the stairs and learned!
What a great tour! Mark, our guide was very polite and friendly. Showed us amazing views in the hills and answered any questions any had. He remembered our names and where we were from while talking to us while driving. I found we had just enough time in Whitby to see the Abbey and get lunch. The bus was comfortable and the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour.
Our driver was knowledgable and fun, beautiful scenery, Whitby is crowded but interesting, being on a small tour bus was great because we got to go on small roads and see things larger buses couldn and #39;t get to.
Brilliant day! Mark was great, very knowledgable and made the trip extremely interesting. Lots of photo stops along the way and many beautiful places visited. A very good value tour.
Very entertaining and knowledgeable guide in Mark . Well timed and intresting trip.
This was a great tour, which went exactly as the itinerary specified. We had just the right amount of time at each stop, the driver / guide was very knowledgeable and personable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. To make the most of the time in Whitby, head for the abbey ruins first and do the audio tour, then the shopping just below it W. Hammond for some jet jewelry, Whitby Glass Ltd, etc., then to Hadley's for great fish and chips, served quickly. The whole experience made a wonderful day out and was well worth the money!
Our driver/tour guide Mark made it a great day we were so glad we did the tour as it was so interesting and the places were so different to what we expected coming from Australia and only seeing them on TV or in books.
Our guide, Mark, was TERRIFIC! HE loves the area and regaled us with many vignettes and facts that brought history to life, and gave us a real appreciation for the landscapes we were taking in for the first time. The pacing was perfect, and we were glad to have plenty of unclaimed time for poking around on our own. We also were grateful that there were no games or ice-breakers to force camaraderie among the passengers--our autonomy was respected. We'd recommend this tour and this guide again in a heartbeat! One of our favorite days on this whole holiday!
The trip was wonderful. The moors are beautiful, and we loved going through villages and market towns, seeing the farms and the sheep and the daffodils. We would have liked another hour in Whitby because there is so much to do and see--but not at the expense of other stops, which we greatly enjoyed. Perhaps the trip could be extended? Mark, our driver and guide, was superb, very knowledgeable and interesting.
