This is a great tour. I've done a lot of day bus tours in England and this is by far the best I've experienced. Mark is very focused on providing a good day for his guests. The Yorkshire Moors and Whitby are beautiful and the commentary provided enrich the day.
Everything was great about the trip. Small group, knowledgeable friendly guide who knew the area, easy pickup in the center of York near the Cathedral. We ate fish and chips ate Magpies in Whitley. Just get their in time to eat leisurely.
Very comprehensive tour across the Moors. Good morning tea stop in the market town of Helmsley. Driver/guide Mark went the extra mile in finding extra things to show us. Commentary very good. Lunch stop in Whitby on a hot Saturday was very busy. Enjoyed the Captain James Cook museum and our fish and chip lunch. The short train ride from Grosmont to Goathland was extra special and we loved the town of Goathland and the scenes of 'Heartbeat', the old cars in the street, 'Scripps' garage and the sheep roaming all round the town. Would recommend this tour but try not to be in Whitby on a weekend unless you like crowds.
A great day. Mark was superb. Very well organised and the times in each place was just right. Loved the ride on the steam train too
I really enjoyed this trip, very special North York.
Especially, the place of and #34;Heart Beats and #34;
Thank you very much for the unforgettable trip. Mark was a friendly and experienced conductor.
If it and #39;s possible I would like to visit the same area again in late summer.
the highlight of our trip! We were both so very glad we chose this tour. Our guide was very informed and extremely pleasant. If I could give it 10 stars I would. We walked the beach climbed the stairs and learned!
What a great tour! Mark, our guide was very polite and friendly. Showed us amazing views in the hills and answered any questions any had. He remembered our names and where we were from while talking to us while driving. I found we had just enough time in Whitby to see the Abbey and get lunch. The bus was comfortable and the views were breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour.
Our driver was knowledgable and fun, beautiful scenery, Whitby is crowded but interesting, being on a small tour bus was great because we got to go on small roads and see things larger buses couldn and #39;t get to.
Brilliant day! Mark was great, very knowledgable and made the trip extremely interesting. Lots of photo stops along the way and many beautiful places visited. A very good value tour.
Very entertaining and knowledgeable guide in Mark . Well timed and intresting trip.
This was a great tour, which went exactly as the itinerary specified. We had just the right amount of time at each stop, the driver / guide was very knowledgeable and personable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. To make the most of the time in Whitby, head for the abbey ruins first and do the audio tour, then the shopping just below it W. Hammond for some jet jewelry, Whitby Glass Ltd, etc., then to Hadley's for great fish and chips, served quickly. The whole experience made a wonderful day out and was well worth the money!
Our driver/tour guide Mark made it a great day we were so glad we did the tour as it was so interesting and the places were so different to what we expected coming from Australia and only seeing them on TV or in books.
Our guide, Mark, was TERRIFIC! HE loves the area and regaled us with many vignettes and facts that brought history to life, and gave us a real appreciation for the landscapes we were taking in for the first time. The pacing was perfect, and we were glad to have plenty of unclaimed time for poking around on our own. We also were grateful that there were no games or ice-breakers to force camaraderie among the passengers--our autonomy was respected. We'd recommend this tour and this guide again in a heartbeat! One of our favorite days on this whole holiday!
The trip was wonderful. The moors are beautiful, and we loved going through villages and market towns, seeing the farms and the sheep and the daffodils. We would have liked another hour in Whitby because there is so much to do and see--but not at the expense of other stops, which we greatly enjoyed. Perhaps the trip could be extended? Mark, our driver and guide, was superb, very knowledgeable and interesting.
Having always wanted to visit Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors this tour delivered in spades !! Everything about it was excellent not least our guide , Mark , who was engaging and very knowledgeable . There were many highlights of the day including Whitby Abbey , the views of the North Sea and the moors , the historic steam train trip an extra side trip and of course the traditional lunch of fish and chips for which Whitby is justly famous - I would highly recommend this tour
Our guide Mark was excellent: very professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. We were on
the go from 9 to about 6, and got more than our money's worth with several stops, picture
points, etc. Whitby and Helmsley were especially nice, but they are both somewhat hard
to get to by by rail or bus. This tour took care of both with just the right amount of time.
Great tour and very reasonably priced!
We have had a wonderfull day out in the moors and in whitby with several stops in the smaller villages and a very nice tour guide.
excellent guide was very knowledgable, helpful and personable. steam train trip a big highlight. great tour.
Fantastic day. Our guide Mark was knowledgeable and all information relayed as interesting - a nice way to learn about the area. A most enjoyable day and highly recommended.
Whitby Abbey was amazing and only short walk from the town. As it was up a steep hill and we were running late the guide took us up in the bus to save time. Very worthwhile. It would have been better if we hadn't had a downpour when we got there but this is Britain!
excellent trip for the day. Our guide was very good. This area is a lovely area to see away from the city. Lovely scenery. Visiting the coastal town was great to.
This was a great tour with beautiful views of the North York Moors. The only complaint I have is that we wished there was more time to see the sites in Whitby. We had about 2.5 hours to have lunch, see the abbey and other sites. By the time we had a fish and ships lunch at the Magpie Cafe we didn't have enough time to see the abbey. But overall, we enjoyed the day.
Mark was informative guide. A very nice and scenic tour but recommend doing it during the week in summer as Whitby is overrun with throngs of people on weekends. Optional boat and train tours are ok. One has to be fan of Harry Potter or the old British TV show Heartbeat to appreciate the afternoon
