Delve into the dark recesses of York’s history on this evening ghost bus tour. With your spooky local guide, visit notorious local haunts (so to speak) of restless spirits, and pass eerie sites such as York Minster, Clifford’s Tower, and the grave of Dick Turpin, infamous highwayman and murderer. Throughout the 1-hour trip, hear anecdotes and fascinating facts about York’s grisly past, and make key stops for a closer look at the city’s most haunted buildings.
Choose your preferred start time that best suits your schedule, and meet your creepy guide in central York for a 1-hour journey through the city’s gruesome history. Board the ghost bus – a classic Routemaster bus with its own questionable history – grab a seat in the shadowy upper or lower deck, and peer out the window as you wind through the dark, narrow streets.
As you ride, hear chilling tales of York’s most prolific hauntings, misdeeds and most sinister characters. You’ll pass infamous landmarks like Clifford’s Tower, York Minster and Dick Turpin's grave, and stop occasionally to get better acquainted with ghostly venues. By the end, you’ll have an intimate understanding of York’s sinister side, touted as one of the spookiest cities in the world!
Your tour returns to the departure point with time to warm your chilled soul at a local pub.
Brilliant evenings entertainment, guide was so funny and involved everyone, my husband had a staring role at one time. Pick up was on time and the vintage bus was great fun. Over too soon as we were having so much fun.
Funniest guide ever! I had many good laughs!
This tour was amazing!
Lovely place very clean and comfortable, great food and the staff were brilliant nothing too much trouble
Would definitely stay again
Great introduction to York's spooky history. My cousin and I enjoyed the commentary, the jokes and the special effects. We were delighted to learn that our cozy accommodation was actually one of the haunted highlights.
Overall I really enjoyed the tour - the compere had the right balance between being informative and amusing!
I liked the fact that we got off the bus once about halfway through the tour and enjoyed the interaction between the compere and my fellow travellers!
The only thing that could be improved was the way the compere was dressed which wasn't authentic. It would have been better if he was dressed in a spooky outfit!
A fun trip which would only have been better if we were there at a different time of the year. Taking a ghost tour in summer means it is still daylight and not as spooky.
Really cool way to experience York at night and learn about it's history!
it was all right... but not scary enough... and i couldn't see nothing trough the window, but overall its ok
A fun evening, but the comedy and delivery mean you never really know what and #39;s a real story and what and #39;s completely made up.
