I would highly recommend doing this trip. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel, which was really great. The tour guide, Sue, was really lovely and told us lots of interesting facts about the people of the island. The beach was stunning, as were the blue caves. We stopped off at a lovely little Greek restaurant, which had a beautiful view and wasn't too expensive. There was quite a bit of getting on and off the boat into the sea, so I would advise wearing flip flops. We went in October, so there weren't masses of tourists about, making this a very relaxing trip. We would definitely go again!
Brilliant tour! From the scenery on the bus ride through the mountains to the boat trip and the actual ship wreck every bit of this trip was great! The tour guide Sue was lovely and gave us a lot of info about the island and Greece in general. The views the whole time were just stunning and the restaurant stop for lunch on the way back was great too. Great food and views! Although there are any amount of tours to pick from and some cheaper this one was the best of any we did and well worth every penny! Without doubt the highlight of the whole holiday!
Excellent trip great island knowledge from the rep would highly recommend
Very good experience, from the moment you got picked up from the Hotel to the entire tour. Sue, the guide, is very knowledge and friendly and make sure you have a very pleasant and fun time. Thank you!
Sue, our tour guide, was excellent. She was very informative and knowledgable of the area/country/excursion. The lunch location was fabulous and the food exceeded our expectations - it was the best meal we had on the island. The shipwreck itself was stunning, even though the beach was very over crowded. We would have loved some added swimming time in the water near the caves perhaps in addition but aside from that it was wonderful.
This tour is worth to go to! Good money for great value! We had a pick up from the hotel, what is really great because we lived quite far from the start point. Then we had a air conditioned bus. Our tour guide Sue is an amazing person) and ofc Navagio was stunning! Lot of people there though.
This was such a lovely adventure. The journey began with a pick-up from the hotel. I was staying in the Tsilivi Beach area and was promptly picked up in a nearby location by a very friendly driver, Sebastian. Then, I joined other adventurers and our very friendly guide, Sue in an air-conditioned coach. Sue had a great sense of humor, and I loved her bubbly personality and local knowledge.
We drove through a very scenic Island road and arrived in a beautiful port in a small village called Volimes. Since our group was not very big, we took a small boat to head to Navagio Beach Shipwreck Beach. On the boat ride to the beach, you see the signs of Mama Nature, including lots of caves, cliffs, and all kinds of ocean colors.
The Shipwreck Beach was simply jaw-dropping. I recommend that you explore every bit of the beach including the area behind the shipwreck. We arrived just in time to avoid a big crowd. We spent an hour on the beach, which I thought was the perfect amount of time. Here is a little tip about the beach. The beach is not completely sandy, but pebbly. It becomes more sandy as you go further back into the land. I took too many photos there.
After that, our boat left the Navagio Beach to see lots of sea caves and Poseidon's Face, a rock formation that looks like, well, Poseidon's Face. We went into some caves and saw bird nests and different colors of reflection on the rocks inside the caves. After we came back to the port in Volimes, we went to a restaurant. I had a grilled sea bream that came with chips and some salad, perfectly complemented by a bottle of Mythos. The restaurant also has a very scenic view.
Overall, the staff made the trip really enjoyable with a careful selection of locations. If you meet Sebastian or Sue, say hi for me!
Really enjoyed the day and Sue the travel guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable. The beach at shipwreck cove is very pebbly and hard on your feet, despite looking sandy. We spent an hour here taking photos of the shipwreck and having a swim in the sea you do need to keep an eye out for boats coming in and out of the cove though as gets very busy. The boat trip to and from the cove was fun too and we stopped again on the way back for a further, unplanned swim!
The excursion was planned well and the guide informative and welcoming. We didn't manage to actually get off the boat onto the beach due to the sea conditions but we enjoyed the experience anyway. The lunch stop had fantastic views and the food was good.
