The Prison Island Tour is a quick hop from Stone Town in a small covered wooden show. The highlight is the giant tortoises that reside here, everything else including the snorkelling was pretty average

It was HOT! Take sufficient water. Interesting history from info supplied by guide 7.5/10 good. Tortoises are originally from Seychelles. Worthwhile to do this tour. At end you can have drinks and eats in the prison courtyard that was never used as prison

Nice 30 minute boat trip out to Prison Is. once out there there wasn't much to see, except the amazing Tortoises up to 192 years old. Loved Stone Town however and saw Freddy Mercurys house and restaurant. Fabulous town.

Poor communication, as the trip was scheduled for first day, not accomplished until last day. Buy SIM card upon arrival, so you can have Internet and a phone here! Guide was personable, spoke great English, even helped us buy souvenirs in town and showed us the Mercury House, home of Freddy Mercury! Highlight of trip was Giant Tortoises, which are fed at 1000 and 1600 daily! Half Day trip was enough time to take in the sights of Prison Island. Don't forget your camera!
