This trip was awesome! The guide was great, very knowledgeable and a good sense of humor. The only down side was that we didn't have any time to look around Kleine Scheidegg. Would highly recommend!!!
I'm so glad I decided to add the rest of the mountain to my trip. Definitely DO IT. Pedro was so helpful with that and did a great job overall. He knew his stuff. To be on the glacier, to see the cloud shadows dance over the landscape. Wonderful!!
Tour guide Fernando was fantastic. I like that he let us have a lot of free time to go around by ourselves. Answered all my questions. Reassured my friend who is scared of heights that Jungfraujoch is doable and worth it. Thank you so much for a memorable tour! Excellent and highly recommended. Don't let the cost dissuade you Zurich is one of the most expensive places in Europe. Go to the top of Europe via this tour company, especially Fernando - it's worth it.
We enjoyed this tour a great deal. We were blessed with fantastic weather. We opted for the 12 hour tour of Bernese Oberland and Jungfrau excursion. It was definitely fantastic! Although there was some fog in the valleys in the morning, once we got to the rail station the fog had burned off. Having the sunshine during the viewing could not have been more perfect. Peter was our guide and he did a great job of narrating and answering any questions. The scenery on the way up and back and the view from the top was some of the was breath taking and some of the most magnificent we have ever seen! As with any mountain vistas, assuming the weather is clear, I would definitely recommend this tour!!!
Thanks to our tour guide Minu...we were convinced to upgrade our tour and go all the way to the top! Incredible experience :)
We first bought the tour only to Kleine Scheidegg, but the tour guide Fernando convinced us (after giving us plenty of info on what to do at Kleine Scheidegg stop -there are a few hiking trails to choose from that you can do) to continue to Jungfraujoch, and we didn't regret at all. Recommended!
Very well organized. Informative and pleasant guide. Breath taking scenery. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time during this trip. The guide was very knowledgable and gave us good information about what we were seeing. We did not go all the way to the top and really enjoyed the quite time walking around. Went part way up the walk to the lake which the North Face overlooks....beautiful.... The only issue was the bus driver (Daniel) advised the bathroom in the coach was only for emergencies. Considering you on this bus for a very long time, we found this unacceptable. Other than....highly recommend.
Very exhilarating. Awesome! I would highly recommend this experience.
it was cloudy and foggy but still we could see the breathaking view along the trip. Definitly we hope we can repest the trip again someday
We did the tour to the alps up to Kleine-Scheidigg which was booked via Viator. The tour itself was terrific. This is one of the most beautiful places I have seen on earth. The ride there is non stop beauty. The cogwheel train ride was fun. The tour and stops were very well organized, except....
We were picked up at our hotel, the Crowne Plaza which is not all that centrally located. The pick up there was part of what was advertised when we booked and went off with no problems. There were 14 people who boarded at our hotel. The bus took us to a central meeting place where about 30 more passengers joined us. This location was a good distance from our hotel. They announced once we were at the central location that they would not be giving us a ride back to the hotel. We were not sure where we were so we were shocked - so were the others that were picked up at the Crowne Plaza. 4 of the group were a family with two small kids - one is a stroller. At the end of the tour the bus driver and guide offered to take us back to the hotel for 20 per group - a group being the number of people who had been paid for on each tour ticket. We figured out during the tour that they were located next to the central train station so we just headed over there and took the train back to the hotel we needed a 24 hour pass anyway. Had we not been at the train station the day before we would have had no idea what to do - not a good thing when you are taking a tour in a foreign country.
The tour company, Switzerland Tours, is aware that the return issue is not being communicated by Viator or on the vouchers for the trip. However, they also failed to communicate the issue when we arranged for pick up and communicated with them about pick up. This issue applies to several different tours with the company and Viator should make sure their customers are aware.
This tour was very nice. The Jungfraujoch mountains are beautiful! we first stopped in Interlakken, where you could do some quick shopping, lunch and restroom break. then onto the Jungfraujoch. the cogwheel train up was nice and easy. we only took the train to the Kleine Scheidegg stop, and not all the way to the top where the highest train stop is. although we didn't do this, there are many hiking trails in Kleine Scheidegg, as well as a couple of gift shops, a restaurant, and a beer joint. we had a wonderful meal on the terrace of the restuarant, which had gorgeous views of the mountains all around us. this was the last tour on a three-week trip so, we had nearly 3 hours to kill, we were looking to just relax and soak in the environment, which was perfect. the ride down on the train through Wengen was also very pretty. the bus ride back to Zurich was about two hours. our tour guide Annette (?) was alright. she seemed like a nice lady, but we've had better tour guides. on the other hand, there wasn't much for her to comment on, on the way there. still a nice way to end a three-week trip.
Unfortunately Europe was hit by a snow storm and our trip was delayed by needing yo put on chains and very poor weather conditions . Visibility was poor and weather impossible to be outside.
However our driver was SN expert in these conditions and our guide was upbeat in difficult conditions
The views and thee alps were incredible, but nothing was added by the tour itself. The guide was rude at times and constantly flustered. I was essentially abandoned at Kleine Scheidegg for 4 hours. The guide left me at what was essentially a railway station, while she continued up with another group that had paid for the more expensive trip. I was promised by both the description of the trip and my guide that there would be hikes to do there to keep my occupied, however, as i asked workers there about these hikes they said it was impossible due to the snow. That left me with nothing to do for 3 and half hours but have lunch. All of this made me realize that the only reason kleine Scheidegg was selected as a destination was because the more expensive tour had to change trains there. Additionally, the only reason the whole day was 12 hours was because the more expensive, Top of Europe Tour, takes that amount of time to complete. So essentially, all other tours took the same amount of time so the company could save money by only hiring one bus and guide. This only functioned to make me feel my money/experience was second class due to them paying for a more expensive trip. All in all, I would have enjoyed the trip more if i'd gone by myself.
