Travel into the heart of the breathtaking Black Forest region on this day trip from Zurich, with a stop at Rhine Falls. You’ll cross into Germany from Switzerland to visit the charming town of Titisee-Neustadt, where you’ll visit the locally renowned Drubb watchmaker to see how cuckoo clocks are made. Enjoy free time here with the option to take a boat ride on Lake Titisee. Later, witness Europe’s largest waterfall tumbling into the Rhine River. Enjoy informative commentary from your guide and a round-trip ride by luxury coach.
  • Day trip to the Black Forest and Rhine Falls from Zurich
  • See two countries in one day: Germany and Switzerland
  • Learn how German cuckoo clocks are made at the Drubba watch showroom in Titisee-Neustadt
  • Stroll around Lake Titisee in the Black Forest and try the region’s Black Forest Gateau, if you wish
  • Enjoy free time at Rhine Falls to take photos and admire the scenery
Settle aboard your luxury coach, departing central Zurich for the approximate 1.5-hour drive north to southern Germany. Watch the scenery slip past, including Lake Schluchsee, as you approach the picturesque town of Titisee-Neustadt, situated on the edge of Lake Titisee in the heart of the Black Forest.

Your guide makes a stop in town for about two hours, starting with a visit to the prestigious Drubb clockmaker. Step inside the shop and learn about the traditional art of producing cuckoo clocks, the area’s renowned export.

During your free time, explore the town independently. Stroll at your leisure around Lake Titisee or take an optional boat ride. Perhaps head to a cafe to taste the region’s signature chocolate and cherry cake, Black Forest Gateau — aka Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. (Activities and food are your own expense.)

When it’s time, meet up with your guide and re-board the coach for the drive south back toward Switzerland. You’ll journey through the spruce forests of Lenzkirch until you reach the Upper Rhine region. Before returning to Zurich, disembark at the impressive Rhine Falls to watch the waters of the Rhine River crashing down a 75-foot (23-meter) drop. During a 45-minute break here, stroll around admiring the scenery and posing for photos.

Your 7-hour tour concludes with drop-off at the starting point in the evening.

The coach is comfortable as well Guide. She has good audible and understandable English pronunciation. But Black Forest is not worth to visit by spending so much money and time. Nothing splendid. Slightly business oriented.Rhine falls is worth to visit. There should be only Rhine falls visit at 12.30 pm. So we can visit Zurich after the trip.

Absolutely loved the tour! Anna was our guide and very informative but not too talky so we could sit back and really enjoy the sites. The Black Forest countryside was so beautiful and the pretty lake town of Titisee-Neustadt was so much fun to explore. The bus parks close to the town so easy walking around. We also had Black Forest cake! Next stop was Rhine Falls with a fun boat ride and time to take lots of pictures.

This was a great day. Enjoyed seeing the countryside.

This day trip was fun: we were thankful for an air-conditioned bus as our hotel in Zurich did not have A/C and we were there in July. Definitely bring your passport!! The cuckoo clock demo was interesting and we had lots of time to shop in the Black Forest. Germany accepts Euros and some places were cash only for food so make sure to bring some. The boatride at Rhine Falls is also cash-only and is definitely worth it for the photo opp and the chance to be outdoors on the water.

Our guide was great at getting photos of all of us at the falls. The boat went around a couple of times to make sure everyone had a shot. It was a great experience! The little town was also great, wish we'd had some more time there. Wish i'd known the schedule ahead of time, so i would've packed a lunch and not had to spend so much of our time sitting down to lunch. Also, i wish there was a short stop for a photo op near the dense trees, as that is what we are all there to see

This was the first trip I booked with viator and I was a bit doubtful how the tour will go. But it was really nice trip as the travel organizer viator assigned was really good. Sufficient time was provided in black forest and Rhine falls. Tour guide also provided us other informations which was good. for others also I would recommend this trip if you are in Zurich and looking or a day trip. Trip organizer was Gray Line Zurich.

Bus too long not enough time in areas never got into Black Forest shopping area a joke I should have just stayed home

The tour of the clocks being made is just a demonstration in a souvenir shop that has a sales associate showing clocks in different stages of creation. Informative, but not the 'demonstration' I was expecting. All there really is to do here is hit the souvenir shops. Have Euros, as they don't take Swiss francs. Disappointment of a day - just a tourist trap.

I know some other reviews had nothing good to say about this tour but I feel they were expecting too much from a 7 hour tour. If you only have one day to go to the Black Forest then this is the tour for you. You get about 2 hours in a small town within the Black Forest. There are many shops and restaurants as well as a boat tour of the lake to check out. With the tour group, which is larger, you get a 15 minute presentation on how the clocks are made and the rest of the time is yours. The town is more on the touristy side but still enjoyable. During the the drive there and back you get to see the forest. I would say my only complaint is that we didn't like we saw many other buses stopping to take a few pictures. After that it is on to the Rhine Falls. If you don't pay to do the boat ride there is really nothing else to do there. I would recommend doing the boat ride, you get close to the falls and it wasn't expensive. You NEED your PASSPORT for this tour.

This is a very good trip where we first went to Titsee in Black Forest area of Germany. The main attractions here are the Titsee lake and Drubba Cuckoo clock outlet store. Of course you can eat the Black Forest cake here !!! We also bought a nice cuckoo clock for our home.

We then drove to Rhine Falls and took a boat ride up close to the fall. We then drove back to Zurich. The tour started around 12:30pm and we were back by 7:30 or 8pm.
