Really welcoming, informative for beginners and Carolyn put you at your ease. Horses were well behaved, the ride took you up into the mountains through the orchards. We then had fantastic views over lake Dunstan and Cromwell. All around amazing experience for riders and beginners.

Really welcoming, informative for beginners and Carolyn put you at your ease. Horses were well behaved, the ride took you up into the mountains through the orchards. We then had fantastic views over lake Dunstan and Cromwell. All around amazing experience for riders and beginners.

This was amazing!
The communication with Karolin was excellent from start to finish and she is the most lovely person to talk to whilst on a ride.
Her horses are beautiful and well cared for, and her riding equipment is in excellent condition.
The location is easy to find and just a short drive from Queenstown.
Karolin ensured that we understood each horses quirks before setting off and catered the ride to our abilities. We had a couple of trots and canters across the hill tops whilst enjoying the most spectacular views. Our horses, Rasta and Clarkey were great.
We didn't realise that there was so much to do in Cromwell. We stopped at a winery on the way, but next time would also enjoy the motor museum and gold mining museum and make it a whole day trip.
My wife and I both highly recommend Golden Hills Horse Treks.

The horses are safe and Jasmin is a pair of safe hands, she keeps an eye and takes care of beginners as was my daughter. Stunning views and so peaceful, relaxing. They have faster and longer treksfor those looking for more.

Me and my partner had a great trek with Jasmine, we booked last minute and got to have a private trek. The horses are great and were very sensible which was perfect for my boyfriend who is a beginner, but we also did a couple of trots too. The scenery is awesome and it’s a cool way to see the area rather than just driving to viewpoints. Jasmine our host was great and gave us lots of recommendations for the area and also our next stop and was super knowledgeable. Will definitely be back to hopefully do one of the ‘experienced rides’ they offer. Thanks all involved:)

💯 an amazing horse riding experience. If you have the opportunity it is worth the drive out. Karolin Is educated and is the sweetest. She made everyone feel comfortable and enjoyed the experience. All the horses are beautiful especially Alex ❤️

The horses were incredibly well-trained and exceptionally friendly. Our experience was made even more special by our wonderful guide, Jasmine (if I recall her name correctly). She was incredibly patient with us, ensuring we had the most enjoyable and memorable experience. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to return.

Our daughter loves horses so we wanted to find a horse trek while in NZ. Golden Hills was the perfect place to ride and Karo was an amazing guide. We loved the ride through orchards and the mountain views. Plus it was affordable and had multiple options for times to ride.

Experience, pretty and friendly guide.
Briefing of the horses behaviors are important as we had young children and elderly mum who has no riding experience. We took a long scenic walk with those beautiful horses along the fruit plantations to the top of a hill with a gd view of cromwell.

What a special time! So relaxing, beautiful scenery, horses calm and behaved, nice long ride, felt safe as junior riders, Karo patient with the kids, accomodating, friendly, all smiles, added to the great experience. Clearly loves what she does and puts heart into her work. So glad went. On top of that, great pricing and value for money.
