Itinerary

Start the day with pickup at your hotel or cruise ship: you have the option to choose a start time at 7am or 8am. Travel to the West Bank of the Nile in an air-conditioned vehicle, where the first stop of the day is the Valley of the Kings. Explore the sprawling, desert site, with time to visit a small selection of tombs with your guide.

Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut, a grand complex built by Queen Hatshepsut, who ruled the kingdom in the 15th century BC, and stand at the feet of the Colossi of Memnon, who guard the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

Cross the Nile River to the East Bank, where you’ll refuel for an afternoon of sightseeing with a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. After the meal, spend the afternoon at the Temple of Karnak, a maze-like complex of temples, columns, and chapels guarded by an imposing double row of sphinxes that once stretched 1.5 miles (2.4 km.) to the Temple of Luxor. The final stop of the day is the Luxor Temple, where recent restoration has revealed bright colored paintings that bring the ancient world to vivid life.

This 9-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or cruise ship at 4pm or 5pm, depending on start time.

Reflections Travel - Best Guide Khaled

Avoid my rookie mistake - flight was delayed and was not prepared with tour guide contact name and number. Thankfully our assigned driver Mostafa with Reflections Travel waited patiently for 2 hours until we located each other in the Luxor airport. We had a comfortable drive towards the tour sight and our guide Khaled joined us along the way. Khaled was extremely knowledgeable and was very willing to answer questions as we explored each tour sight. He provided history and highlights and was given the freedom to explore at our own pace. Our tour included lunch / shopping and both were a pleasant experience of tastes and cultural offerings. Many thanks to Khalid for making our trip a visit of a lifetime !!

We were collected from the airport upon arrival to Luxor and were straight into the tour. What we covered with our tour guide Barry was incredible. Barry shared his knowledgae on each site and then gave us time to explore further in our own time. Barry was always ready to assist with a photo or 2 or 3 .. Barry had organised all tickets prior to our arrival so we were able to skip any ticketing line and go straight in. Bring an empty stomach because lunch is huge and really will satisfy 😄 Really recommend this tour, was an awesome day.

Beautiful Tour, but Disappointing Guide Experience

The sites on this tour were absolutely worth visiting, but unfortunately, our experience with the guide, Khaled, was very disappointing. From the start, he seemed rushed and even suggested skipping some of the planned stops. I was sick that day and not feeling my best, but instead of showing patience or care, he often left us behind and hurried us along. Strangely, while rushing us through the sites, he made sure we had plenty of time for shopping stops, which felt unnecessary and forced. The day also ended almost an hour early, and we even had to drop him off at his house, which felt unprofessional after such a rushed day. To make things worse, halfway through the tour, during lunch, he asked us to pull out our phones and leave a five-star review on the spot. I found this extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate, especially since the tour wasn’t even finished. To be fair, the tour itinerary itself was nice, and in other cities like Cairo and Jordan we had amazing guides who made the experience special. This one just felt careless, pushy, and not kind. Hopefully, other travelers have a better guide than Khaled.

Overall, the tour itself was very good. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and explained the history and culture in a way that made the experience very enjoyable. I appreciated the organization and the effort put into making the day special. However, I did have a negative experience at one of the stops. The guide took us to a spice shop that he personally recommended, but unfortunately the prices there were extremely inflated. I was interested in buying something, but the situation quickly became uncomfortable because of the way the shop handled the sale. It felt more like pressure than a genuine experience. I want to be clear that this did not ruin the entire tour, but it was disappointing. When tourists trust their guide, they expect recommendations to be safe and fair. Stops like this can create distrust, even if the rest of the tour is excellent. That being said, I still value the guide’s work and will leave a good rating overall, but I strongly suggest avoiding this kind of shop in the future. It would make the tour experience even better and more trustworthy.

We had Roshdy as our tour guide, who was amazing! He spoke very good english, was on time and waited patiently for us at the hotel. He contacted me the evening before the tour and offered whether we wanted to start earlier than our booked time as he rightly said it would be quite hot already if we started at 10AM. The van was airconditioned and our driver hamdy also drove with much care. Roshdy gave us lots of tips and made sure we were safe, and gave us great pointers (such as to avoid sitting at the front with the driver - on the 'gulf buggies', as the driver would ask for tip/money). He was very attentive and knew that we were not used to the heat and so made sure he rang the driver to get the aircon on to ensure that whenever we go back to the van it was nice and cool. Roshdy was also very knowledgeable and patient with us. We went to the sites that was on our tour itinerary, and he gave us the tickets to luxor temple as that was supposed to be our last stop. However he saw that we were already exhausted at that point and suggested he could give us the tickets to explore it either in the evening or the day after in our own time. The only thing to say however is that unfortunately one of the tickets he had given us - was apparently already used and the temple would not accept it so one of my friends had to buy their ticket, I'm sure this was just an accident and not done on purpose / an error with the ticket as all the other tickets given to us were fine. Overall I would definitely recommend this company / tour and especially our tour guide, Roshdy!! Thank you again Roshdy, you made us all feel comfortable and safe during this whole tour.

Amazing tour

I have no words to express how amazing the experience was. Our tour guide was Mohsen. He should be, honestly, teaching Acient History at any University in the world. He is so kowledgeable about everything. With a perfect english he was able to transport us to this wonderful places in Luxor. If I compare Mohsen with other tour guides we saw and heard along the way I can tell that he is so passionate about sharing the History of Egypt and also gives so many details that many others don't. About the tour, starting with the pick up on time from the hotel, we had private car with AC (wich is indispensable for this tour). Then we were taken to Valley of the Kings to visits the tumbs and follow by the Temple of Hatshepsut (Monumental construction). After that we went to Colossus of Memnon for quick photos. Around lunch time we were taken to a restaurant for lunch. (it's a buffet, not fancy but with few choices). To end the tour went to Temple of Karnak. Wich is in my opinion out of this world. 100% recommended.

Overall a really good experience, our guide Roshdy was a great communicator; super engage with us, and concerned about our well being and understanding. He went at our pace, never rushed us, was super kind. A genuinely great person with a wonderful personality and easy to talk to. It can be awkward in the car with a total stranger all day, but he made us feel right at home. He also catered the tour to us, what order we wanted to go in, etc… offered really good insight and gave very candid and honest answers. We had a wonderful visit to the alabaster shop where we met the great grandson of the Egyptian that aided the Howard Carter in finding the toom of King Tut. Highly recommend, make sure you bring your walking shoes.

Had a nice day with Barry. He was very knowledgeable and flexible. We were able to choose our own lunch spot. He took us to a mandatory shopping stop but reminded us a purchase wasn’t necessary. It was good anyway to see the alabaster items and a good air conditioned rest. There’s also like 20 things to see on the West Bank so I liked that this tour showed the highlights and skipped the closed or broken attractions. I’d definitely book this tour for Luxor. If you have more days, ask what else they’ll take you to.

Our tour guide, Mohsen was very knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us lots of information about the places we visited in Luxor and made our tour experience wonderful. The private AC car was a savior in the extreme heat of Luxor (41 C) and our driver, Taha was good too driving car felt and safely. Would recommend this tour to all as Luxor sites are big and having a tour guide improves your experience and saves time in visiting the places. The lunch was delicious arranged in a medium size boat. Realy great tour. Mahmoud was amazing guide. Only thing that killed the vibe was the tourist souvenir scams he took me to. All materials made in china but charge $120. Mahmoud was a great guide and helped accomodate and customize the tour to the best of my needs. I could not have asked for a better guide
