Highly recommended this incredible tour. Tony was so knowledgeable and fun. He gave us great insight into the incredible art and history of this magical city. It was a perfect way to spend the day. There is a lot of walking but it’s not at a fast pace and very doable for me and my little dog. Thank you so much!

Art focused day tour with chocolate
Heidi_S, Oct 2025
The tour starts early, 9:30. Tony, who was so interesting, walked a group of 7 around the Jalisco neighborhood explaining the murals and political art. We went in to a museum, and a few art galleries to see different examples of art. No pressure at all to buy, but you could have. One highlight was going into a printing gallery where we made copies of a choice of lithographs. Lovely meeting the people there. Walked away with a numbered print. The end of tour we then sat down for a very educational and delicious chocolate tasting. Again, no pressure to buy chocolate, but had opportunity to and of course we did because it was delicious.

It involves a lot of walking in a hot environment. Need to bring water and hat. Guide was very knowledgable and friendly (Tony). Need comfortable shoes!
Great Half Day Experience
Patricia_M, Feb 2025
Fun and informative for those who are interested in learning about the rice paper rebellion focused murals. Wear comfortable shoes and plan to stand or walk most of the time. Bring a snack, we got hungry during the active 5 hrs. Tony was an energetic and intelligent tour guide. English easy to understand.
Murals and Chocolate In Depth!
Anne_H, Feb 2025
The guides for both experiences were so knowledgeable! Both Tony (art) and Martin (chocolate) explained and interwove our experiences with the history, culture, and significance to Oaxaca! So interesting and well paced! Thanks for the coffee break, Tony; and chocolate tastings, Martin!

Muchas gracias Anne!
Fun and informative

There are many wonderful murals, art studios, and artists in Oaxaca that to learn about it is special. Antonio was an excellent guide showing us the way. The chocolate tasting experience made it a memorable ending.
Amazing Tour!!
Amanda_R, Jan 2025
This experience was absolutely amazing. I was able to learn about the art of the city, and even more so about the culture and people and religion and beliefs and how people are making change thru art. The experience was amazing and the cacao tasting was another in depth learning experience. I loved this tour and would absolutely recommend!
Great way to experience Oaxaca!
Ashley_T, Jan 2025
We had a wonderful time with Tony. This tour felt special on multiple levels: visiting an artists' collective/studio/workshop, learning about street art in Oaxaca, a studio promoting social justice through teaching art, and a cacao/chocolate tasting. It really hit some highlights "off the beaten path." Tony was engaging and so generous with his time, and Margaux's studio where we were able to do our own prints from her studio's artists felt like a meaningful and fun souvenir. Give yourself a little more time than allotted, as there's so much to do and see, it's a gift to be able to do more; you also get out of the experience what you put in, so be curious and ask questions (it's not a lecture). Great photo opportunities with the street art, a nice coffee break in the Jalatlaco neighborhood, and a nice balance of experiential and visual learning (street art, do your own prints, and the chocolate tasting). Thanks for everything!
Tony Rocks!
Lara_O, Dec 2024
Our guide Tony was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and casual. He took us to several local spots we would have missed on our own. Our whole family found this experience to be a highlight of our trip.
Truly excellent street art tour!
Kathleen_R, Dec 2024
Tony led an excellent tour! We saw wonderful street art, met artists, visited studios, stopped for coffee, enjoyed an opportunity to make our own “art” with help and ended with a fabulous cacao demonstration and tasting. Tony explained about the Oaxacan famous (and less famous) artists which made me appreciate the art even more. This was probably the best local tour that I’ve experienced. I highly recommend it!
A great experience, definitely recommend

Excellent tour! Met so many wonderful artists and saw beautiful work! Margaux is an excellent tour guide! The chocolate tasting was amazing!
Great little tour to see the best of Oaxaca on foot.
Colette_S, Nov 2024
It was so much fun. It was so cool to learn the history and meaning of the street art. The art school was cool and so awesome to have art on display that was made by people who are incarcerated and facilitated through nonprofit organizations
A Must Do!
Sophia_A, Nov 2024
5 stars! This tour was fun and interesting. My Mom and I had already spent a few days in Oaxaca exploring so we thought we would see some of the same things we had already seen but Tony took us off the beaten track to see and do some really cool things we wouldn’t have experienced on our own. We learned alot too! Thank you Tony and Margaux for one of our most favorites experiences in Oaxaca!
