Fantastic experience, highly recommend. Although it is a long way, the stunning and breathtaking scenery along the way and great commentary made it really enjoyable and worthwhile. Good amount of stops and the main stop at Passo Pordoi was brilliant. Definitely recommend getting the cable car to the top, incredible views. This was an awesome day out!

Itinerary

Meet your guide between 7am and 8am at select pickup points in the Lake Garda area and a seat in your air-conditioned coach. Then, head into the Dolomites — widely considered among Italy’s most beautiful mountain ranges — to begin your 11-hour tour.

Stop at the traditional mountain town of Cavalese to browse chocolate shops and admire the traditional architecture. Then, stop for photos at Lake Soraga near Moena.

Afterward, head deeper into the Dolomites to the Pordoi pass and reach altitudes of up to 7,300 feet (2,240m). Admire panoramic views over mighty peaks including Catinaccio, Marmolada, and Sella, and capture the scenery on camera.

Following free time for lunch and an optional cable-way ride up the mountains (own expense), continue to the traditional resort town of Ortisei — famous for its intricate wood carvings. Admire the beautiful timber buildings for which Ortisei is known, and perhaps pick up a souvenir of your day in the craft shops.

When your time in Ortisei comes to an end, start the return journey in comfort. Stop for coffee and a bathroom break in Nogaredo and finish with drop-off at your starting point in Lake Garda.

Seeing and experiencing the Dolomites is imperative!
Claire_M, Oct 2025
We left before daylight on this very long bus trip from Desenzano, del Garda. But, even before we boarded the bus we enjoyed gorgeous pre-sunrise views. The gentleman running the tour was very sweet natured, extremely informative regarding the history of all the areas we passed, and perhaps a bit verbose. We made a morning stop in a great little cafe with reasonably priced cappuccino and croissants. So delicious I went back for seconds on both. It’s a long trip, very long — some of the towns we stopped in were touristy end of little interest to me. But as we drew closer to the mountain peaks, the views became magnificent, there so many beautiful formations to see. The tram up to the top is a must. The ride was smooth and it was exciting looking out and seeing the changes as we went up higher. At the very top, there was snow and it was quite cold. Make sure you have a hat, gloves, scarf and a warm jacket ( the tour was at the end of September). The views are majestic in all directions. There were several paragliders that were fun to watch. At the top is a little restaurant where I warmed up with some hot chocolate. We had the most competent bus driver imaginable, as that we went around many hairpin turns on narrow roads during our journey. We left before 7am and returned after 7pm. We stopped briefly in a touristy town afterwards and enjoyed an interesting museum with fantastic wood sculptures — saw some amazing sights in a church. After we went to the top of the mountain, I would have chosen to head back since the day was a bit too long.

Unfortunately it was very cloudy when we went up the gondola to the top of the mountain so we did not get to see the beautiful view. HOWEVER, the bus ride up and back and the stops along the way were well worth it. Beautiful scenery.
Wonderful Tour

Spectacular tour that leaves you breathless up on the Dolomites. You feel like you’re in another world. The trophy cable car to the peak offered amazing views!
❤️Fredrico “Ricky” - Best tour guide ever!!!!

WOW!!!!…this is a MUST DO when in Northern Italy! Words do not even begin to tell you how amazing this was. We had Fredrico “Ricky” & will never forget this tour. The double decker bus was so comfortable & our driver Paulo was awesome.
Good to have a fantastic guide!

Thomas our guide is fantastic! Entertaining and friendly. The tour is good . I know Dolomite is hue, so many area we need to explore! My suggestion is you should expand more different area. Not just only the same area all the time. But we still love it. From Florida, USA.
Unfortunate event
loguv_l, Sep 2025
We took this excursion, I had been planning for over a year. The ride was beautiful, however, the first snow had fallen and my husband took the cable car ride, with practically zero visibility. Very disappointing. I feel the tour director should have been forthcoming and said visibility is bad, but who wants to take the $30 ride are aware of this.

A short visit to Dolomites that really worth it.
Oreste_d, Sep 2025
The tour is a beautiful experience if you like the mountains. As most of tours tend to be rush in some parts, but considering how far the mountains are, makes sense. Ciara is the best tour guide, she knows every details of the route and give a lot of information about the area. I think there are things that can be improved. The first stop is too long in a town that have nothing of interest, with 15 min is enough and maybe you could add 30min to the mountains that are the main attraction. There were 78 people in the bus sometimes you feel that the AC is not enough. The bus is comfortable with two floors and you have a good view of the landscapes. Overall if you like nature you will see one of the most unique places of the world. So I would recommend undoubtedly.
What’s the gondola up charge
Debby_H, Sep 2025
Nice experience to see Dolmites buss driver was awesome . The gondola charge for tour groups was posted for 25 and the guide charged us 30 which I think is not fair and think I should along with all the other passengers as well 5x 30 or whatever # was is a nice tip. Sneaky I know one solo who asked for the money back right away and she should have given all but that was the experience.
Awesome
Ruth_M, Sep 2025
The tour is very informative and nice. The only draw back is that you are in the coach for too long because the distance it way to far. Very understandable. But the highlight was the tour leader. Fredrick Von Gal. He was super charming / patient/ and even passed some jokes. Well done to the driver ( Paolo if i remember well) For handling that big monster up those hills.
A trip to the Dolomites...

It’s worth going
Colin_M, Sep 2025
It’s a long time to get to the Dolamites, but if you like mountains it’s worth gong as long as you have a good driver (we did)
Excellent tour, thank you Thomas & Giovani
Elizabeth_G, Sep 2025
Wonderful day out! Firstly, pick up location was clarified with us prior to the trip which meant the operator could coordinate the most convenient pick up point for us in Riva del Garda. Thomas, our tour guide, was great - very informative and knowledgeable about all areas of the trip, his energy was high throughout and was clear on what the schedule of the day would look like (including time between stops and toilet opportunities). Giovani, our driver, drove excellently throughout difficult roads and turnings all day! We stopped for multiple quick photo opportunities in picturesque places, a long with longer stops where we were able to explore, including lunch and a cable car experience (extra fee). We would highly recommend this trip if you're wanting to experience the dolomites for the first time!
Stunning Views & local insight.
Katrina_B, Sep 2025
A long time to spend on a bus but absolutely worth it. Unless you’re a cyclist, fond of driving or a climber, how else will you experience this beautiful landscape? The tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable and engaging. She also explained a lot of the local history and geography which brought it to life for us. During the free time near the top, we took the cable car option and the views were spectacular. Lots of photo opportunities. Would recommend.
Super fantastic!

Dolomites day trip
June_L, Sep 2025
Solid tour. The Dolomites was so picturesque. Getting there and back was a fairly straightforward process. Frederico was very informative but he often to talk around his key points which makes his your monologues a drag. Most of his talking happens on the bus but some part of that "drag" was charming though. The exploration of the different stops was self exploration and was pleasant. Be sure to bring a high quality camera. The area just has larger than life vistas for days.
Stunning!
Patricia_B, Sep 2025
The Dolomites was absolutely stunning to see! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. I saw many adorable towns along the way that I would love to come back and visit some day!
Amazing Experience
David_T, Sep 2025
It’s a long day but totally worth it, a few little stops along the way for toilet and snacks but the best bit is when we took the cable car (paid extra for this £25.50 each) but wow the views are amazing ans most likely will be never beaten. layer up with drink in hand and go and explore and blow your mind with the views
Fantastic Dolomites!
Maureen_C, Sep 2025
Prepare for a long but comfortable bus ride. Very good, careful driver, and excellent guide. Superb views all along the way with enough stops. Cable car ride and view from top absolutely amazing. Only weak point, lousy lunch. Very well worth the cost.
Fantastic trip.
Anna_G, Sep 2025
This is a long day but worth it. Ciara was a friendly, knowledgeable guide who explained everything clearly (we always knew how long it would be till the next stop and where we could go to the toilet, as well as providing fascinating commentary on the region). The Dolomites are breathtakingly beautiful. Take cash for the cable car and to tip the driver and guide. Something the guide can’t control is the weather, we were lucky to have a clear day but be prepared to take the risk that you might not see much on a bad day. In my view it’s worth the risk though, the journey is beautiful. Reasonably priced, too, compared with some operators. Also Ciara dealt professionally with an issue with a different group, giving us confidence that we were in good hands and that the tour operator handles problems swiftly and fairly.
