We can also provide provide pick-ups at "Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts" or "St. Regis Bora Bora Resort" docks on the main island. Customers from : "Conrad Bora Bora Nui", "Le Meridien Bora Bora", "Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora" can take a hotel shuttle boat to Vaitape and meet us at our office (next to the main dock). Customers from : "InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa" (on the motu) need to take a shuttle boat to the "InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort" on the main island, where we can manage the pick-up. Our office at Matira is really close.

Fun - Just not much to see

We were on a cruise through French Polynesia with friends, and two of the couples rented these little electric cars to explore the island of Bora Bora. The cars were small, but fine (even for me at 6’2”) and fun to drive. We were very grateful for the air conditioning because it was a pretty warm day. We didn’t have any problems with the range of the vehicles, which was a good thing. We drove all the way around the island (all 20 miles) and stopped at the beach for a bit. We enjoyed lunch at Le Gecko and enjoyed the views. The only issue is that there isn’t a whole lot to see from the road in the island of Bora Bora. All the hotels are on the surrounding motus. Still the island is beautiful and the trip was fun.

Nice car with AC. Easy to drive, maximum speed 45 KPH. You can drive around the island in 3 hours. Book in advance.

Book your ecar in advance for Bora Bora. Avis is right at the port for Norwegian cruise lines. Fun car to drive and always found parking since it was a little two seater car. Lots of fun driving it.

Not so “Fun Car”

The “fun car” wasn’t much fun. The wheel felt like it was about to fall off. The battery said we could drive 100 kl but we didn’t make it around half of the island and the battery was less than 50%. We rented the car for 8 hours but had to return it in 3. We luckily made it back with 20% battery life.

Hi sorry that you feel that way. The vehicle autonomy depends on the way of driving. The island tour is 32 kilometers. Being careful it make it more than twice as (80 km). With AC and sport driving it can drop to 40-50 km of autonomy. That would explain the 20 % battery lasting.

Know Before You Go for Best Results

AVIS was very friendly and convenient to Le Moana. This car is cute but not a great idea for Bora Bora. The windows do not go down and the sunroof was broken (had to hold it open to get a breeze). We did finally use AC after we were confident we had enough charge for one lap around the island. The map they give you is not very helpful. We found stops by looking where others parked. This car was a two seater side by side but the seat does not move so not comfortable for short people. AVIS had to call us because they said the car we reserved wasn't available (though we ended up getting the one we thought we reserved) and it would have been impossible to reach me if I hadn't gotten an eSIM with a local phone number. Overall, I am glad we did it (and I greatly appreciate it being automatic and not manual), but I now wish I had also booked a land tour with a guide to show us around and reach interior hills for better pictures.

Avis rental was great, electric 2 seat with A/C worked all around the island. Picked us up at hotel and dropped it off at the hotel after a full drive around the island.

No car after I prepaid for reservation

Did not have electric car that I had prepaid for. I had to rent a hybrid car for 4 hrs. I was charged an additional $140 for the car. My friend had same thing happen and was only charged $90 for a 4 hr hybrid rental. I'm requesting a refund from Viator and will request $50 back from Avis on Bora Bora. Two other people in our group did not have their electric car rental also. Don't patronize this vendor.

Due to an unexpected high demand with the cruiseship and an in the logistic in our side, we offered you an upgrade to a hybrid vehicle, which you accepted, stating, "as long as it has 4 wheels and air conditioning, we’re fine with it." To clarify, no additional charges were applied for this change. We only took a card imprint for the security deposit, but no amount was debited. Regarding your refund request through Viator, we declined it as this was the only payment received from you. Super fun car!!

This car was super fun, and easy to drive. We were able to circle the island and make stops with just one charge. It was nice to travel with the freedom to move about at our own desire.

It was a cute little car for exploring the island. We only went half speed and used the AC on low setting most of the time and was able to get around the island once and still had half the charge remaining.

ia ora na, Thank you for taking the time to share this review. The battery last 60 to 80 km. It is difficult to have small vehicles with a better autonomy. We do offer free charges if needed. Concerning the map, we do offer a map with every rental. At least it is available on the counter of our offices. We also provide the application Bora Bora Explorer for iOS. Fun to drive but the battery died at 3 hours and we paid for 4. I asked for a partial refund and was denied. Don’t rent these cars in Bora Bora

Hi, We do propose free charging or car switch when we are able to do so. But everything is explained in the product description (see below). I am sorry you feel that way but there are not much electric car that are able to last 4 hours in a raw. As thermic cars by the way. The autonomy also depends on the way you drive, we cannot ensure that the battery will last the all duration of the rental. It is the responsibility of the customer to manage the battery life as managing gasoline level with thermal car. We do offer free charging in our office or can offer a vehicle switch when it's possible depending on availabilities. The island is small (32 km tour) and if you drive gently you should be able to make 3 tours of the island (only 2 with AC) without charging.

Great experience once we eere underway. However the car is not brought to you as described and paid for. We had to pay for boat transfer and then a car picked us up to take us to Avis.

Cutest little zippy car perfect for touring the whole island and then some. I had enough power to zip around the whole island with many stops for shopping and dining. Great for 1-2 people with a roomy trunk to stuff your souvenirs.

I reccomend the upgraded model. It is comfortable and had AC. We are in our mid 70s and had no problems. It allowed us to stop whenever we wanted for photo ops and snorkeling.

Easy and fun way to tour in your own time

This is a great way to get around the island at your own pace. The charge was just enough for 4 hours with a few stops along the way for shopping, swimming and eating. The staff at Avis are super friendly and helpful. Definately recommend

Scenic views. Got to view the whole island. Easy car to drive. Wish Viator would give us the refund when we modified our experience from eight (8) hrs to four (4) hrs.

Super fun little car doesn't go the speed limit in some spots on the island but people just go around you so it really doesn't matter. It goes all the way around the island and then some.
