One the highlights of my trip for sure. Don’t try to do Versailles without a knowledgeable guide. These guides gave so many interesting details. Matt helped navigate the trains back to my base. The bikes made it so fun. I loved the market and the picnic was perfect.

We highly recommend this tour! Aurora, our guide, was charismatic and an excellent host with lots of background information. We learned a lot about the palace, its gardens, and food at the near by market. Aurora spent over eight hours with us and kept us safe as we biked through the city and informed with incredible details about the palace and its grounds the entire time.

It is a very fun and active way to visit Versailles and the gardens. The opportunity to shop at a market and have a picnic on the grounds of Versailles was the icing on the cake! Our guide, JB, was so knowledgeable, kind and easy to get along with. He had an excellent sense of humor and made the whole experience worthwhile. Highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful day touring the palace, gardens, and market. Enjoyed the bike ride and it is appropriate for all ages.

Loved, loved, loved the bike tour. What a great way to see Versailles. Our tour guide, Lola, was exceptional. Knowledgeable, warm, friendly, and charming. Highly recommend the experience.
Enjoyable day trip.

We all enjoyed seeing the village and palace of Versailles. The biking is flat and in autumn the trees are beautiful. There is no tail bike, only the leader so you must be able to keep up with the group’s pace.
Great Versailles Tour

This was a fantastic tour of Versailles. Just the right amount of walking and biking with a great guide. We had great assistance for every stage, and really enjoyed our tour.
A fun way to see Versailles

Maggie with Boutique Bike Tours was awesome. Very patient with a 50 year old that hasn’t ridden a bike in years. The market stop/picnic lunch was a highlight for me. My husband loved the hamlet tour. The château was very crowded; not at all the fault of the tour company but pushing your way through wall to wall people was overwhelming. Mid October was perfect weather wise, not too hot or too cold to bike and the gardens were still open.
Fabulous day at Versailles!

Maggie was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and had everything we needed. An amazing tour of the chateau, bike riding through the gardens, and a picnic! Highly recommend this tour!

well organized, excellent guide (Naomi), covered a lot of ground both literally and historically, and covered areas we never would have done without the tour - very worthwhile!!!
A big OUI for this tour! Just do it. :)

We took this tour on our 8th day in Paris. We had already done a LOT of walking and stair climbing, so I was a bit nervous about a full day of physical activity. Though our legs were tired by the end of the day, the cadence of the tour allowed for a nice mix of cycling, walking, and sitting that felt balanced. Our tour guide, Clara, was knowledgeable, patient, and fun. Her delivery was clear and entertaining, keeping the group engaged and curious. Having the opportunity to bike through the clean, charming town of Versailles and peruse the street market for our lunch fare was such a delight… and picnicking by the canal was blissfully relaxing. I had a feeling this tour was going to be my favorite activity on our Paris trip, and it was! Both my partner and I highly recommend it.

This was one of the highlights of our trip! Andrea was an incredible guide—knowledgeable, funny, and full of great stories that brought the history of Versailles to life. His instructions were clear and easy to follow, so even those of us who don’t bike often felt completely comfortable. The tour was the perfect mix of sightseeing, history, and fun. We loved exploring the beautiful grounds by bike and seeing parts of Versailles that most visitors miss. Andrea’s energy and enthusiasm made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour—it’s a wonderful way to experience Versailles!

Tween Liked it!

Went with my 12 year old daughter. She loved it even though she said it was sort of like history class. :)
A Great Change of Pace!
Michelle_G, Oct 2025
Wow! The opulence of Versailles did not disappoint, and our tour guide, Andrea, did a fantastic job bringing history alive. I did not do any pre-trip history reading, and really know nothing about French history, but it didn’t matter. Andrea was clear, concise, and very humorous and engaging. The biking portions of the tour were not physically demanding at all. I felt like I barely had to pedal through majority of the trip; there was one moderate hill, which Andrea prepared us for ahead of time, and he offered many suggestions such as getting off one’s bike and walking up the hill, and he did it with much care and tact for the less confident riders. I will admit it was a little bit disconcerting driving with traffic and over all the different terrain such as cobblestones and tree roots, but Andrea was very attentive and often stopped to make sure everyone was together and to give stragglers a chance to catch up. The tour of the gardens and Marie-Antoinette’s private space were very interesting, and I felt like I learned so much from Andrea. There was ample time at the market to find delicious lunch fare, and when we arrived at the canal to eat, Andrea thoughtfully provided blankets, plates, cutlery, cups and napkins. After so much waking around Paris, this bike tour was a great change of pace and I would definitely recommend it as a unique way to experience Versailles.
Family Versailles day tour

We have done other Versailles tours and this tour was MUCH better. Starting the tour early through the palace was great because crowds were much smaller! THEN going off to the market for picnic lunch goodies was brilliant scheduling! Our overall day tour guide Brian was WONDERFUL!! We had another palace guide who was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful historical tour of the palace.
Perfect way to get the most out of Versailles!
Chelsea_A, Oct 2025
What a wonderful way to see Versailles and to get off your feet for a bit and bike! Our guide was wonderful, the market was great to get our items for lunch. There was a chance of rain that day and they were prepared with nice rain coats!
Best way to see Versailles all around
ngaunt2, Oct 2025
Biking around Versailles was one of the best excursions we had on our trip. We had plenty of time to see the main place which was beautiful and then got to bike around the gardens and the queens hamlet. I also really liked going into the local market and grabbing things for a picnic by the water. The weather was beautiful and our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. All around a great experience and I would recommend this to anyone visiting.

Up close and personal with breathtaking Versailles

Do this! Versailles is absolutely incredible, and this bike tour lets you experience all of it - from the city, to the gardens, explore the hamlets, and inside the chateau palace. This ended up being way more than I expected, and it was so worth it. This was my first time to France, I am a solo traveler here for a business trip and don’t speak any French, so I was a little concerned about getting around town - this tour and our guide took care of everything, all I needed to do was take an Uber from my hotel to the train station. Our guide Irena made it fun and educational, she knew so much about the history. The bikes are comfortable, the ride is easy going, and allows you to experience all of Versailles not just the palace. There is no way you could walk and see everything, biking was the only way to do it. There were ample bathroom breaks and water stops throughout the day. Couple things to look into when you schedule your day to do this: 1. The garden Fountains outside only run on certain days to conserve water, 2. The city farmers market is open on certain days which is a unique experience with many different fresh foods and even street performers, Sunday is a special day where both the fountains and the market are happening. I came away with tons of amazing pictures, a better understanding of the history of Versailles and of France, I tried some French wine, cheese, coffee and lunch from a café, met some interesting people from different parts of the world in our small tour group, and even got a little light exercise. If I could give this six stars I would. Merci and Thank you Irena!!
